Murphy Mason's (Perry Mattfield) quest for justice in 'In The Dark' is not going anywhere as it turns out Dean Riley (Rich Sommer) can get away with murder even after evidence is presented to the police.

Considering that the show is set in Chicago, it is quite realistic that one white cop is helping another white cop evade justice so they can catch who they think is the bigger fish to fry. In this case, it's Nia Bailey (Nicki Micheaux), the drug kingpin and money launderer for whom Dean used to work for. Murphy's recording of Dean's confession is destroyed by the police chief who admits that it is inadmissible because Murphy recorded Dean without his consent.

For viewers who watched the Season 2 premiere, that Dean got away with murder despite Murphy's hard work was infuriating. However, they also hurt for his daughter, Chloe Riley (Calle Walton). When Dean gets away scot-free, Murphy even thinks of telling Chloe that her father is a murderer, but then decides against it.

One fan tweeted, "Dean has no choice but to die at this point! there’s no way this white man can just get away with killing Tyson, I refuse to believe it!!!!! #inthedark." Another wrote, "OF F***ING COURSE THEY LET DEAN GET AWAY WITH IT!! But I mean, Can we get an 'Oh shit' for this 'Oop'? Murphy means Business, Let's not waste it. #InTheDark."

A viewer opined, "Dean is twisting things. To think I used to like him. #IntheDark." Another tweeted, "Dean can't even take responsibility for why he and Murphy broke up. Blaming her for that too. #InTheDark."

While fans want Dean to pay, they don't want anything bad to happen to Chloe. A fan wrote, "I want to see Chloe's reaction when she finds out her dad is a murderer. #InTheDark," while another tweeted, "Dean's love for Chloe does not diminish the fact that he is a fucking murderer #IntheDark."

A fan tweeted, "She’s not going to tell Chloe but ugh, I want nothing but the worst for dean! #inthedark." Another opined, "Chloe would suffer without her dad. Thankfully Murphy decided to spare her. #InTheDark." One viewer wrote, "Hopefully we never see Chloe again I can’t wish everything bad on dean when she’s around talking about how she can’t live without him! he needs to die. #inthedark."

Now that Murphy is going to help Nia launder money and Dean will be working to arrest Nia to save himself, some fans also hope Murphy and Nia work together. A fan tweeted, "Can Murphy and Nia maybe partner up to get Dean? I could work with that. #InTheDark."

'In The Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c.
