LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Water. Earth. Fire. Air. Sounds much like 'Avatar: The Last Airbender'? Surprisingly it is not. Long ago, after making 'The Good Dinosaur' in 2015, Pixar filmmaker Peter Sohn set out to helm a movie with elements of family and romance weaved into the story. 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' never influenced that vision, despite their shared concept of personifying the four core natural elements.

Still, Pixar and 'Avatar' fans on social media have gravitated towards 'Elemental,' Sohn's new animated movie, ever since the first teaser trailer was released; it revealed a city in which beings made of water, earth, fire, and air all live together. The trailer also showcases elements like water beings taking baths, air people hanging out on the ceiling, and land parents carrying their kids around in clay pots. It ends when the two main characters, Ember and Wade - voiced by Leah Lewis and Mamoudou Athie, respectively - bump into each other amid the chaos.

The official synopsis of the film reads, "Follows Ember and Wade, in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together."

'Elemental,' which was properly unveiled earlier this year, is Pixar’s only release planned for 2023. This follows a busy 2022, which saw the studio release both 'Turning Red' and 'Lightyear.' It’s being helmed by 'The Good Dinosaur' director Peter Sohn and is due to be released on June 16, 2023. However, fans loved it and are wanting more. A fan said, "This actually looks cool This is a trailer. I’m very interested in the world, the story, the absolute hottie that is Ember, the characters, everything," while another added, "Elemental is Pixar version of Disney Zootopia with Element City being based on Zootopia & Ember & Wade relationship being like Nick & Judy!" A fan wrote, "@Pixar Honestly it's the first Pixar I'm excited for since Toy Story 4, you should do more romance in your films." A fan tweeted, "Very happy for both of them transitioning," while another added, "So basically "what if the elements have feelings?" Im on board with this idea!"
