Ilhan Omar's ex allegedly found her and her lover in their pajamas when he made surprise visit to her apartment
Rep. Ilhan Omar’s ex-husband found out about her alleged affair with her chief fundraiser after he walked in on the two of them lounging around in her apartment, clad in just their pajamas. According to the latest news, Omar's ex-husband, Ahmed Hirsi will be paid tens of thousands of dollars to keep silent about the incident.
He had made the shocking discovery back in spring last year when he had made a surprise visit to his then-wife's apartment in Washington DC from Minnesota, where he and the couple's three children lived, reported the Daily Mail. “It’s wasn’t that he actually caught them in bed,” a source shared about the time when Hirsi walked in on Omar and her chief fundraiser Tim Mynett, who was also reportedly married at the time. “But they were clearly in a romantic situation,” the source added.
According to the outlet's unnamed sources, Hirsi's family then sat down with Omar's to reach a financial statement that would forbid him from speaking publicly about the breakup. This comes after Hirsi's suspicions of Omar cheating on him, "but she kept telling him he was paranoid,” and insisted he stayed back home in Minnesota with their children, the source said. Hirsi was left “angry and humiliated” by these latest discoveries and will now collect as much as $250,000 over the next six years to keep shut about the whole thing, reported Daily Mail.
The 37-year-old Omar and her 38-year-old fundraiser Mynett have so far refused to comment on anything pertaining to their relationship which was outed to the public eye by Mynett’s then-wife, Dr. Beth Mynett, 55, in her divorce filings. Hirsi, 40, and Omar, on the other hand, were divorced in November.
As of now, the divorced Mynett owns a campaign financing consultancy company, called E Street Group, which has been working on Omar’s campaign payroll since July 2018. The latest Federal Election Commission filings reveal that Omar's campaign has already paid E Street $216,564 in the last three months of last year.
