MOSCOW, IDAHO: Records show that the killer of the four University of Idaho students likely crept through a series of rooms on both floors of the apartment, possibly entering through a sliding door before going on a rampage with the knife. According to a new report, the killer murdered the victims on the second and third floors after looking around the home.

Two bedrooms are on the third floor of the house where the murdered students lived, and two more are on the second floor. A sliding door leading outside is on the second floor. Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, were stabbed to death in the early morning hours of Nov 13 while roommates Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen slept on the first floor, according to police. House drawings for 1122 King Road, obtained by the Daily Mail, further illustrate the layout of the sloped Moscow property. The Chapin and Kernodle couple, who were together, likely slept on the same floor, while Mogen and Goncalves likely lived on a different floor.

Police reported that two of the victims were on the second floor and the other two were on the third floor when the unidentified killer fatally knifed them. According to the Daily Mail, Goncalves and her dog were filmed for a TikTok video in a third-floor room with a balcony. The culprit would have traversed a number of communal spaces, including the living room on the second level before confronting the victims on the third story. Although, the police did not confirm whether the suspect came in through the sliding door or the main entrance. Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen were in one of the other two bedrooms on the first floor during the rampage.

In addition to having three bathrooms, the 2,300-square-foot house was most recently rented in June for $2,498 per month. “One of the top campus housing options available! — Sought after location within close walking/biking/driving distance to campus and Greek Row,” the listing stated. Many people, including Goncalves' housemates and an ex-boyfriend, have been eliminated as suspects by Moscow police. Police added that a man observed on surveillance film the night Mogen and Goncalves died beside them at a foot truck has also been ruled out. There is no evidence of a murder weapon as the homicide investigation also incorporates the FBI and the state police.
