MOSCOW, IDAHO: An online post claiming to show the termination letter issued by Washington State University (WSU) to  PhD student Bryan Kohberger, suspected of murdering four University of Idaho students on November 13, 2022, is going viral. But netizens are now debating the authenticity of the letter. Kohberger, though charged with four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary, is still to have his day in court.

On November 13, 2022, four University of Idaho students —  Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kerndole, Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin — were stabbed to death at their off-campus residence. After a seven-week investigation, Kohberger, a 28-year-old criminology student at WSU, was arrested from his parents' home in Pennsylvania, thousands of miles away from the house where the murders took place, on December 30.

Fake or real? 'Creep' targets female WSU student

Ever since it was revealed that Kohberger was studying at WSU, several online posts have made claims related to the University. Whether they are actually true or not remains to be seen. For instance, a Redditor apparently screenshotted a post by a woman, allegedly a WSU student, who claimed that a man had tried to force himself into her home. "Wsu still creeps on the loose," wrote the user in the caption while sharing the screenshot that detailed the woman's experience. Identifying herself as Daniela, a PhD student, she narrated the scary experience, saying, "I was walking to my apartment door when I noticed a black car with no plates and no car logo parked in front of my apartment door. The trunk was open and the car running."

The woman then narrated that as she was about to close her apartment door, she realized that there was a man behind her who suddenly grabbed the door handle. "I was able to push all my body weight against the door to prevent him from coming in," her post added. Daniela suposedly then contacted the police after securing the door, but before they arrived, the man allegedly kept ringing the doorbell, while trying to force open the door and knocking on it. The man was gone once police arrived, she wrote.
