'I got really skinny': Emily Ratajkowski opens up on her divorce with Sebastian Bear-McClard
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emily Ratajkowski has finally come out and talked about her four years of marriage, which unfortunately ended in divorce last year. The model and activist got hitched to film producer Sebastian Bear-McClard but after the cheating allegation surfaced, Ratajkowski decided to walk away. "I didn't have the courage to leave for a long time. I was really, really unhappy," she said in an interview on the 'Going Mental' podcast. "I was, like, 100 pounds and I had just had a baby. I got really skinny 'cause I was not OK."
The mother-of-one added, "I tried to take antidepressants. I was sure there was something wrong with me. I think so much of what I learned coming out of that relationship is to trust your instincts. The 31-year-old further emphasized to host Eileen Kelly, "Gaslighting is a real thing." Addressing the part of society which pushes individuals into finding their forever partner, Ratajkowski said, "Every piece of media we consume from the second we are born is basically this idea of finding a partner that completes and validates you." The model thinks such emotional pressure makes it a little more difficult for someone to make that decision. "Plus, I had just had a child. So I really wanted to have that family, so it was especially hard for me to totally walk away."

'For me, it was so clear'
Without spilling any details on what was the reason behind her divorce, Ratajkowski said, "For me, it was so clear and then it just became clearer and clearer and clearer, which was good, which was clarifying." Taking a lot of learning from her challenging marriage and divorce, the celebrity shared that there was a lot of learning in the process, "I didn't understand that it was actually going to be so nice to come back to myself," she said on 'Dear Media’s Going Mental With Eileen Kelly' podcast on Thursday, March 9. "(And) return back to how I see the world, how I understand, things, my instincts", added Ratajkowski.
Ratajkowski got linked with Brad Pitt
In September 2022, she went ahead and filed for divorce in Manhattan Supreme Court, and soon afterward she was spotted with Brad Pitt. A few months ahead of official filing, a source close to Ratajkowski told People, "It was Em's decision. They split recently. She is doing okay. She is strong and focused on her son. She loves being a mom."
