'I did always want to play Wolverine'
When a fan asked on the Reddit thread, “Have you spoken with James Gunn at all in regards to Constantine 2? Hope we get to see it!" the star replied, “Yes, and me too.” Again, on being asked, “Has there ever been a role in your career that you regret turning down?” Reeves replied, “…No…but I did always want to play Wolverine.”
Fans didn’t shy away from asking the ‘John Wick’ star which one is his favorite installment from the franchise, “Out of all 4 john wick movies you have made so far, which one was the most challenging to shoot, and why? Can’t wait to watch the 4th!” The eponymous star didn’t disappoint as he replied, “Chapter 4….,” before adding the reason, “it has the most action, gloriously.”
On being questioned “Hi Keanu, are there any directors or actors/actresses you haven’t worked with yet but would like to do so in the future if time permits?” by one fan, Reeves replied, “Let’s go with David Fincher today." Fans also diversified in their choice of questions, as one user asked, “What’s your favorite moment or memory from working on point break?” To that, the star replied, “Working with Patrick Swayze. He was a gentleman and a total pro, a movie star, an inspiration.”
One fan, after thanking Reeves for the questionnaire session, asked, “Hello, Mr Reeves, thank you for doing this! Seeing you as a character in Cyberpunk 2077 was an incredible experience, I genuinely think Johnny Silverhand is one of your best roles. Do you have any further plans on starring in computer games in the future? What is your attitude toward computer games overall?” To that, the Reddit user got a well thought of answer, “Cool, thank you! I love Johnny Silverhand and I think all the folks at CD Projekt at friggin’ amazing! Video games are fun! And it’s cool how technology and storytelling are evolving in that space.”
Reeves, also didn’t disappoint the fan who asked about his favorite film, “What is your favourite film that you’ve worked on?” He replied, “Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! F**k, aaaaaahhhhhhhhh…I’ve been very fortunate to work on a few films that have changed my life. I can’t pick just one. But here are a few- River’s Edge, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, Matrix trilogy, The Devil’s Advocate, A Scanner Darkly, My Own Private Idaho, Point Break, John Wick.”
To the question, “Hey Keanu! Can you tell us a fun experience you've had with co-stars while filming?”, the reply was equally interesting, “Can’t tell that story…can’t tell that story…can’t tell that story…I had a scene with River Phoenix and he was sitting on the back of a motorcycle that I was driving while we were filming. It wasn’t extracurricular, but we went off the beaten path a bit and came back and no helmets. Just two friends playing. It was a really good day.”
When one fan asked to choose which he liked better between “the kung fu training you did for the Matrix or the jiu-jitsu you do for John Wick”, he again gave a detailed reply providing the reason for the same, “...Nothing can ever compare to the kung fu training from the Matrix because it was so unique and my first time…but the jiu jitsu in John Wick being integrated with judo and gunfights can never be touched in its own way.”
'Pineapple on pizza?'
The questions were not limited only to movies as they ranged from being hilarious to outright adulatory. On being asked whether he experienced anything paranormal, his reply was affirmative. Reminiscing about the past, he said, “Boo!...yes. When I was a little kid I was sitting in a room with a nanny and I thought I saw a ghost in the doorway and I looked over at my nanny and she looked really scared…I didn’t know what the heck was going on.”
Fans also got a comprehensive guide to his food choices. One of the most controversial questions of recent times, “Pineapple on pizza: Yay, nay, or neutral?” also found a place on the Q&A session. However, the actor didn’t shy away from making his preference known, “Nay…but yay if the pineapple is slightly roasted.” On being asked about his favorite food or any “comfort food that reminds you of early Childhood”, his reply was droolworthy, “...Shepherd's pie…macaroni and cheese, peanut butter and honey sandwich. I’m hungry."
Reeves also didn’t forget to thank his fans for the Reddit session, “Thanks everyone for spending some time with me…it was cool to chat with you and hopefully we can chat again down the road…have a good day, good days - all my best, warm regards, Keanu.”
