It's 2023 and we preach “Self Love” more than anything. Self-love is another way to say self-care. From affirmations to mediation we do it all to prioritize ourselves more than anyone in this world. TikTok trends are advocating self-love and this viral trend, "I wanna thank me", will definetly teach you to compliment and appreciate yourself. Self-love is a state of appreciation for oneself that grows from actions that support our physical, psychological and spiritual growth. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. Self-love means taking care of your own needs and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means not settling for less than you deserve. This is why all TikTokers should try this trend in 2023.

How did this trend start?

Snoop Dogg spoke at the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2018. He thanked himself, as a significant contributor to his success. After MTV UK uploaded the video to their TikTok account and used it as the basis for their meme messaging, the iconic moment went viral.

Creators should take advantage of this trend to promote themselves. While it is simple to express gratitude to others for their contributions to your projects, acknowledging your own efforts is essential for self-motivation and well-being. It is very important to give the same amount of love and appreciation to yourself as you give to others.

How can you use this trend?

You can lip sync with it, use it as your sound of choice with a compilation of you putting in the #werk, or pretend you're giving a speech, as some users have done. This sound also gives you many options and overlay text that provides context once you've settled on a concept. For us, this meant using Snoop Dogg affirmations as self-care.

I wanna thank me for believing in me

One user wrote, "Snoop Dogg’s “I wanna thank me” speech is such a motivator. Like yes me myself and I did thissss lol . And I DESERVE it !!! Love ittt." While another wrote, "Last but not least, I wanna thank me. I wanna thank me for believing in me, I wanna thank me for doing all this hard work, I wanna thank me for having no days off, I wanna thank me for, for never quitting. (c) Snoop Dogg."
