That Terry is a bad friend has been addressed countless times on Michaela Coel's dark HBO comedy 'I May Destroy You'. From ditching her in an inebriated state at foreign night clubs to backing out of her summits last-minute - Terry (Weruche Opia) has led Arabella (Coel) to be in compromising situations several times now. And by the looks of the upcoming Episode 6's synopsis, Arabella is quite about done with it.

The synopsis for Episode 6: 'The Alliance' states "Much to Terry's disapproval, Arabella attends a support group for rape and sexual assault survivors run by their high school acquaintance, Theo. In a flashback to 2004, teenage Arabella and Terry intervene with a young Theo."

While we don't know yet what their feud with Theo (Harriett Webb) was about, it's obvious Terry once again thinks she is watching out for Arabella when in reality, she has given up the task without any qualms when her best friend needed her watchful gaze the most. Terry has expressed some sense of guilt about not being there with Arabella the night of her assault and even that looked like a shoddy attempt at clearing her own conscience so anybody else wouldn't blame her.

Unlike Kwame (Paapa Essiedu), who was there with Arabella the day she came to realize the assault she was seeing in her subconscious was her own and walked with her to the cops to report it, Terry's allegiance has been quite convenience based. She is fine with supporting and helping her friends when the situation benefits her. And while we can't blame her because who knows what Terry herself has been through, there's no denying that it doesn't make her a good friend. And that is something Arabella seems to have picked up on.

The synopsis states Arabella is deciding to go to a support group, meaning she probably shut off entirely from addressing her assault or trauma with Terry. Why Terry is so anti-Theo is still left to be revealed, but Arabella is not listening to her judgment anymore at least. For her, surviving her trauma is a priority and she decides to speak only to people who have been through the same to learn how to cope with it. Arabella doesn't know of what happened with Terry in Italy, clearly, so it makes sense why she would choose to cut her off even more.

'I May Destroy You' airs on Mondays at 9 pm only on HBO.
