Spoilers for 'I Know This Much Is True' Episode 5

This is the last episode before next week's finale, and it's safe to say that no one wants this show to end. From Mark Ruffalo's portrayal of Dominick and Thomas Birdsey to the script of the story being undeniably gripping, fans are sad to see the show coming to an end. This week's episode saw the introduction of Dominick and Thoma's grandfather, Domenico Tempesta (Marcello Fonte) and as always the series managed to tell a sensitive and traumatic story with exuberant excellence. After finding out that his grandfather had betrayed his own brother and got him killed, Dominick wondered if he had let Thomas down? Was he like his grandfather or was the curse his grandfather had brought upon himself real? It was an interesting episode, as per usual, and let us say Grandpa Domenico is pretty jarring of a human being.

From raping women to killing animals, the man had no remorse whatsoever, "The grandpa is evil incarnate #iknowthismuchistrue," tweeted a fan while another tweeted, "So Grandpa Domenico is kind of an asshole. #IKnowThisMuchIsTrue." Dominick's grandfather's behavior and personality were disturbing to say in the least. His views of women were grossly inappropriate and how he treated his wife was even worse. "Weren’t those the days, when women were treated like cattle, talked about like they weren’t in the room. #IKnowThisMuchIsTrue #IKTMIT #IKTMITHBO," tweeted one fan while another replied, "Gramps Domenico is a special kind of cruel and fucked up. #IKnowThisMuchIsTrue #IKTMIT #IKTMITHBO."

This episode saw Dominick find out more about his past, and yes, most importantly, he got Thomas out of Hatch Forensic Institute, a psychiatric hospital. Thomas may have been sexually abused in the institute, but fortunately had tested negative for HIV. Like we said, VERY sad episode, but fans couldn't get their minds off grandpa. "I hate Gramps Tempesta even more than the crazy b**** that translated his book. #IKnowThisMuchIsTrue #IKTMIT #IKTMITHBO," tweeted another viewer.

Even though this show may be hard to watch, it is impeccably delivered by skillful actors that make you want to understand more of the Birdsey family. "I’m not ready for this to be the second to last episode #IKnowThisMuchIsTrue #IKTMIT #IKTMITHBO," tweeted a fan mirroring our sentiments. Next week's episode will be the season finale of the HBO series. 'I Know This Much Is True.' Another tweeted, "I would love to see a behind the scenes to #iKTMIT@MarkRuffalo" with a user replying, "Mark Ruffalo should win an Emmy for this, #Iknowthismuchistrue.'

The season finale of 'I Know This Much Is True' airs on Sunday at 9 pm EST on HBO.
