CORNELIUS, NORTH CAROLINA: The Cornelius Police Department, the FBI, and the State Bureau of Investigation are continuing their search for Madalina Cojocari, a sixth grader who was last seen at her home in Cornelius on the evening of November 23. However, the Cornelius Police Department said the 11-year-old was not reported missing until three weeks later.

Internet sleuths have come together to discuss the case, with many suggesting Madalina may not be alive. "This is so sick. I'm praying for Madalina to be found alive and well, but we all know that is never the case. Her parents are monsters," one user wrote on Reddit. Another said, "That is not a good sign. I don’t forecast a happy ending here." "It’s tragic enough when people are murdered for various reasons but when a child seems to have vanished and there are nefarious circumstances, my heart breaks..I think of my son when he was that age and his innocence and it’s almost too much to bear and that this beautiful little spirit seems to have been met with tragedy. I can only pray she’s not in pain and that true justice will be served," said one user.

Mystery of Missing Madalina Cojocari: New timeline reveals chilling details about 11-yr-old girl

"First thought when I read she wasn’t reported missing was the parents did it. Then I kept ready while trying to give the benefit of the doubt, like “No, people do weird things. There’s gotta be more to the story” Aaaaand then I read she said she’d bring her and didn’t. Nope. Guilty. Smells fishy," one user wrote, as another agreed, "Yes, when I saw the headline first come out I immediately feared that she must be dead. Why else would you not report your child missing? Where would they be? My heart breaks for Madalina. I hope if she is no longer alive that she’s at peace." One user said, "This poor little girl. Im afraid it seems quite likely her parents did something to her. Some people are just despicable."

Madalina’s mother, Diana Cojocari, recently said that she believed her husband put the family in danger. She and her husband, Christopher Palmiter, who is Madalina’s stepfather, had an argument on the night the little girl was last seen, court documents revealed. Palmiter drove to Michigan following the dispute, and three days later, he was told Madalina was missing.

Diana told investigators she did not immediately report her daughter missing because she was afraid it would her relationship with her husband. Last week, Cornelius police arrested Diana and Palmiter for failing to report the disappearance of a child, according to officials.

Anyone with information on Madalina's whereabouts have been urged to contact the Cornelius Police Department at 704-892-7773 or the North Mecklenburg Crimestoppers at 704-896-7867.
