'I Am The Night' Exclusive: Star Dylan Smith on studying the torture of Sepp's thoughts to embody his iconic role

As eye-catching as India Eisley and Chris Pine are in their roles, it is negative characters George Hodel (Jefferson Mays) and Sepp (Dylan Smith) that keep us coming back for more
UPDATED JAN 30, 2019

'I Am The Night' premiered on TBT on January 27 and has already managed to capture our attention with the very first episode, thanks to the sinister and dark tone surrounding the heart-warming story of one woman's search for her identity. As eye-catching as India Eisley and Chris Pine are as Fauna Hodel and Jay Singletary respectively, it is the negative characters George Hodel (portrayed by Jefferson Mays) and Sepp (Dylan Smith) that make our skin crawl and keep us coming back for more.

While these characters may come across as single-dimensional evil men, over the course of the season, we will see that they have their own reasons and driving forces for their actions. Sepp, especially, may be a little hard to pin down in the beginning, but at the heart of it, he is an artist striving to exist in something beyond himself.
