'I Am Shauna Rae': Support pours in for Shauna's family amid horrific public scorn

For Shauna Rae, the star of 'I Am Shauna Rae', her life has been far from easy. Being 22 yet stuck in the body of an eight-year-old often comes with a set of unique challenges that are not easy to navigate around. From being treated like a child in public to dating, Shauna has dealt with quite a bit. And while she claims she's learned to ignore it all, the same can't be said about her family.

One of the most prevalent issues that Shauna faces is public judgment. As a 22-year-old, Shauna enjoys normal activities that anyone her age would -- going out with friends, going to bars and dressing up. However, she often gets starred down whenever she dresses up and wears makeup, with people judging her. Shauna explained that it is harder for her mother because these people seldom say anything to her, but think it is okay to confront her mother for letting 'a child' dress in a particular manner. Patty agreed with Shauna's sentiment, saying that it torments her endlessly, knowing that there will never be a point where Shauna won't face this sort of discrimination. Fans hearts went out to the family, offering them support.

On a lighter note, fans loved Shauna's spunky personality, she that she is never afraid to tell it like it is.
