'I Am Shauna Rae' fans worried that Shauna may attract 'creeps' through online dating
For Shauna Rae, navigating around life is hard enough already, especially because she looks like an 8-year-old. But, as Shauna explained it, one of her biggest struggles has been being taken seriously, as she explained in the premiere episode of 'I Am Shauna Rae'. For example, when she sits in a car, she should sit in a booster seat. However, Shauna is vehemently against it, as it takes away her sense of independence.

Even when she goes out, she often gets starred at and carded, seeing that people mistake her for a child. While navigating around these aspects can be tricky within itself, it adds to it, she feels as though her dating life is in the slumps. The biggest issue is that she often tends to attract creeps due to the physical aspect of her condition. With the help of her sisters Tara and Rylee, she went about setting up an online dating profile. However, her stepfather Mark and mother Patty were concerned about Shauna finding love online. As Mark explained it, it's hard to know people immediately, and certain extreme factors need to be considered. He explained that it's essential to know if these men have any restrictions on being around children out of the fear that Shauna might attract paedophiles. Fans expressed the same concern.
"There are a lot of creepy people on dating sites and apps, so it's a bad idea for Shauna to have a dating profile! #IAmShaunaRae" tweeted a fan. "This is a very interesting situation. As a father I can understand her parents having a hard time letting her grow up. There's too many creeps out there but they have to trust her. #IAmShaunaRae" added a fan. "I understand wanting to be in a relationship, but I would be worried that anyone who is interested in someone who looks like a 8 year old, may be a pedophile. #IAmShaunaRae" noted a fan. "I'm sure some guys are assholes but as a dude I'd be wary of being with her. People who don't know might try to kick your ass if they catch dude trying to make a move.#IAmShaunaRae" noted another.

While dating has not been easy, Shauna did confirm that when it comes to physical intimacy, 'all the boxes have been checked'. Tara and Rylee, her older and younger sister, certainly seemed to have some luck when it came to Shauna's dating profile, as they found a guy named Greg, who seemed like the perfect match. Greg is a cancer survivor, giving him and Shauna something in common.
