'How to Get Away with Murder' actor Liza Weil 'would always revisit it' and hopes ABC legal drama gets reboot

Weil, at the cast gathering to celebrate the show's final season, told MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), "It’s gonna be hard to let this go. If we can all keep hanging on as long as we can if there’s a possibility of us reuniting -- that’s lovely. I hope that that happens”

The cast of Shonda Rhimes’ hit ABC legal drama ‘How to Get Away with Murder' gathered Tuesday night at the Paley Center For Media in Beverly Hills, to celebrate the show's final season. Speaking to MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), actor Liza Weil talked about how she could see herself doing a reboot of ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ if she was ever asked.

Weil, who plays the role of Annalise Keating’s (Viola Davis) assistant, Bonnie Winterbottom, on the show, spoke about how much she loved the show: “The pilot episode of this series was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever read. I mean I’ve never seen anything like it."

“Bonnie (her character) was actually a very small presence in the pilot. And I think if she was a bigger presence, I don’t think I would have had a shot at getting the job frankly,” Weil said. “I am always grateful to be considered, that people want me to be a part of something… The group of people that have assembled here, the actors are all so talented and the kind of stories that we're telling is so exciting to approach as a performer.”

Talking about her character’s near-death experience on the show and the possibility of her character being killed off, Weil said, “Nobody is safe.” Weil also spoke about working with Davis: “She taught me so much. It’s an amazing thing to be able to look in her eyes in a scene and just to be able to be with her every day. I mean, we have daughters that are the same age. That’s been one of my most favorite things about the job. It’s that our girls come and visit and they have a great friendship with each other. That’s outside of being on set being surrounded by grown-ups all day long. That’s been so lovely.”

“I think she just reminds me every day to be brave and to just sort of get in there and leave it all on the dancefloor. And I think that’s really been the most valuable thing -- It’s that I’ve learned so much about myself and confidence has been built up,” she added.

On the idea of rebooting ‘How to Get Away With Murder’ a few years down the line, Weil said, “I would always revisit it if we were asked to… It’s gonna be hard to let this go. If we can all keep hanging on as long as we can if there’s a possibility of us reuniting -- that’s lovely. I hope that that happens.”

‘How to Get Away With Murder’ Season 6 Fall Finale will air Thursday, November 21, at 9 pm/ 8c, only on ABC.
