Spoilers for 'How To Get Away With Murder' Season 6 Episode 10 'We Are Not Getting Away With It'

Returning after five months of wait, the midseason premiere of HTGAWM couldn’t have been more intense. Although we did have an inkling of what could go down this week from the flashforwards in Episode 9, there were more surprises than expected, as is classic to this hit legal drama. One of the biggest surprises, however, was seeing Solomon Vic come to rescue his estranged daughter. And we suddenly see him as the protective father, who would do anything for his little girl, even if it means selling out Annalise to the feds. It was easy for him to do so, since he was the one who arranged for Annalise’s hideout, change of identity and helped her flee the country. However, things cannot be as simple as they seem, especially when we are talking about Annalise Keating and her connections.

The first question that nags us is: why and how did Solomon suddenly appear to rescue his daughter?

We have explored Michaela Pratt and her father’s equation before and whatever we saw from her reactions, this was the least expected. Yes, Michaela is ambitious and all and she would do anything for success, but this was another level altogether. After she refused her dad’s help earlier and suddenly became all self-respectful, we never thought they would connect back again.

Surprisingly, in Episode 10, Michaela revealed her ultimate opportunistic side and reached out to her influential father to rescue her. We bet Solomon isn't aware how deep that girl can go to fulfill her own interests. Or does he? And is he doing it because he also has a hidden agenda in saving her? What we really need to explore is why is Solomon helping her and how does it circle back to his issues with Annalise?

So, here’s a theory.

We know Michaela’s biological mother is dead. What if Solomon killed her mother and Annalise helped him cover up the same. She probably made someone else fall for it and made Solomon appear innocent. That’s how Solomon always owed her a favor and when the time came, he was obligated to return the favor. This would explain the million dollars he once deposited in Annalise's account and then provided the VIP service to get her out of Philadelphia and keep her underground in Mexico.

However, Solomon would have repaid his debts to Annalise without a qualm if Michaela’s life wasn’t on the line. Now that he saw her being incriminated, he tried to even it out with Annalise by snitching on her and by saving Michaela (albeit with false hopes and promises of a big life ahead for the ambitious girl). That way, he would get his daughter back and getting Annalise arrested would clean up his dirty secrets off the books.

Do you think this could be a possibility for Solomon Vic’s sudden appearance in Micheala’s life?

‘How To Get Away With Murder’ Season 6 is back on air every Thursday at 10pm/9c, only on ABC.
