O'AHU, HAWAII: HGTV's 'Renovation Aloha' is all set to release on February 20 at 9 pm ET on HGTV, and new episodes will air every Tuesday.

The show features a Hawaii-based couple, Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama, who will be seen buying worn-down properties and flipping them to make the properties purchase-worthy. They own a highly successful real estate business that cares about providing for the community.

Even though they do not speak much about their personal life, the duo did share their fairytale story of how they met and fell in love with each other in 'The Origin Story' podcast.

To begin with, Tristyn's parents, who were successful entrepreneurs, ended up in jail due to drug possession. After serving time, the couple was transferred to a treatment center where Tristyn's mother improved to such an extent that she became the executive director of the facility.

Kahomai narrated that even though he had a healthy childhood he fell into the abyss of parties, drugs, and alcohol and landed in jail several times before he was asked to serve time and recover in the same treatment center and stayed there for four years and has been clean since June 2012.

He also talked about meeting Tristyn at the treatment center, which she joined as an intern while getting a degree in mental health. It was love at first sight for both of them and they were instantly smitten by each other.

On the podcast, Tristyn shared that it was her mother's strong endurance that made her believe that Kamohai was an excellent man and asserted, "Mothers can never be wrong."

Kamohai was also totally in love with Tristyn but was skeptical at first to approach her as he got to know she was the daughter of his boss. Soon it was Tristyn who slid into Kamohai's DMs and they started developing feelings for each other.

They have since been together and tied the knot on March 5, 2016.

How many children does Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama have?

Kamohai and Tristyn Kalamai share two children. They have a seven-year-old daughter named Yasiel and a five-year-old son called Vale.

The children share a very stable relationship with their grandparents and are very close to them.

In 'The Origin Podcast', Tristyn noted that they ventured into real estate to secure the future of their children as it seemed to be a profitable business.

What is the ultimate goal of Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama?

The ultimate goal of Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama is to help and give back to their community, as Hawaii is a very expensive place to stay with limited employment opportunities and is heavily dependent on season-based tourism.

They applied their entrepreneurship skills to build a profitable real estate business and aid their community, creating hundreds of local jobs with their projects. Moreover, they buy and sell houses in such a way that home ownership is made more achievable for local people.

In an HGTV interview, Tristyn noted, "Through word-of-mouth, connections, and social media, we love to work directly with local families."

On the other hand, Kamohai stated, "Our goal is to retain local families in Hawaii. We attempt to do so if we have any influence over who inherits the house."

'Renovation Aloha' for the couple is much more than just projects involving purchasing and flipping properties as they feel it is more about connecting with the people and its culture.

What special tradition do Tristyn and Kamohai Kalama partake in after wrapping up each project?

After the renovation of the home is complete, Tristyn and Kamohai gather their family in their new home. Kamohai's father blesses the project by playing a song on his ukulele.

On the topic, Tristyn stated, "It's so significant to every part of who we are." She feels blessing the house prepares a space for the new family coming in and pays respect to the family who will inhabit the home.

Watch 'Renovation Aloha' every Tuesday starting February 20 at 9 pm ET on HGTV.
