Dahlia Sky death: Porn star was homeless and living in her car when she 'shot herself'

Dahlia Sky’s mother, Lisa Hayes, has launched a GoFundMe to seek help with funeral expenses

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The body of adult movie star Dahlia Sky was discovered inside a car with a fatal gunshot wound in Los Angeles on June 30. Now, her mother has revealed that the 31-year-old had no home and was living in the car while battling breast cancer. Sky’s mother, Lisa Hayes, has also launched a GoFundMe to seek help with funeral expenses.

Writing about her daughter whose real name was Melissa Sims-Hayes, she said, “My daughter, Melissa, passed away at the beginning of July. She was homeless and living in her car in Northridge, Ca. She was found in her car shot in the head. The detective said it was an apparent suicide. We need help with her final expenses, she had no money of her own. Any amount you could possibly give would be very appreciated. We would be very grateful. Thank-you so much.”

Porn actress Stephanie Gregory Clifford, known professionally as Stormy Daniels, donated to the fundraiser. She said, “I'm so sorry for your loss. I have such wonderful and fond memories of her.” Along with her, several others contributed and wrote condolence and tribute messages. One person stated, “Our thoughts and prayers are with you. God got an Angel spread your wings and fly Melissa. God bless all.” Another one added: “I donated because people need to help eachother more in this world.”

Daniels also took to Twitter to express her sadness over Sky’s death. She posted, “I had the opportunity to direct many many talented performers during my time with Wicked. Dahlia Sky was one of my absolute favorites. She was also a friend. I am heartbroken to hear of her passing. She is the third death I've learned of in the last 24 hours. Life is so fragile.”

This comes after in June, Sky shared a selfie on social media and stated, “Just got tested.” Also, in March, she revealed her disease by writing, “I love @webmasterjoe because he understood how difficult going through cancer is. I posted on IG that I have stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. He was so kind and invited me to stay at his house. I am battling this cancer every day and he has been nothing but supportive.”

According to reports, Sky was suffering from Stage 4 breast cancer, which resulted in depression. After her body was found in a car in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles, police said that she gunned down herself and branded her death as a “potential suicide”. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) detective Dave Peteque said suicide is “what the investigation is leaning towards, and there's no evidence at this time that there's any foul play.”

Meanwhile, adult film producer Hans also spoke about Sky’s cancer battle. Hans said, “During her last year, I spoke to her several times about life. It was not an easy ride for her. This will take a long time to get over, if it's even possible. Dahlia Sky, you beautiful soul, you funny, complicated, and warm-hearted friend! I am going to miss you so much.”

Director Glenn King shared, “I’m really sad today about the passing of Dahlia Sky. I remember the day we shot her for MeanB*****s how everyone on set enjoyed being around her. RIP Dahlia.” Performer Phoenix Askani added: “I have not really known what to say about Dahlia Sky. She was a kind, sweet, energetic soul and so much fun.
