FIJI, OCEANIA: As 'Love Island USA' Season 5 premiered on Peacock, contestants Anna Kurdys and Marco Donatelli were the ones who caught most of the attention. Not only because of their physical appearance but also because they were speculated to know each other from before. This made fans wonder whether bringing in a known pair is a common format of the show.

As soon as it was revealed that Anna and Marco had a prior relationship, viewers immediately began to wonder how they met. Do they reside in the same area? Or were they classmates? Well, the answer is unique.

How did Anna Kurdys and Marco Donatelli meet? 

Marco revealed in the premiere episode that he knew Anna outside of the villa. They go to the same gym in Florida and are just friends. Well, this could be an advantage for the individuals as they will get the chance to know each other better in the show.

Seeing Marco confess about knowing Anna from before made a fan tweet, "OOOOOO ANNA AND MARCO KNOW EACH OTHER." Another shocked fan wrote, "HOLD ON. thats allowed. Marco and Anna know each other!!?!!" A fan tweeted, "Marco & Anna know each other already… dear god."

Has adding well-known characters to 'Love Island USA' been a regular occurrence? Well, it seems so! Previously, fans watched Ella and Tyrique knowing each other before the dating show and now there's Marco and Anna. 

Knowing that Anna and Marco have a benefit made fans criticize the producers. A fan tweeted, "First Ella and Tyrique knew each other and now Marco and Anna. These producers are the same from the UK and I’m jacking it." Another called it a "juicy" storyline, saying, "The fact Anna knows Marco oooohh it’s already getting juicy." Another claimed, "Not Marco knowing Anna. They go to the same gym?! What?! So random." A fan speculated, "I feel like Marco is gonna be on demon time, so Anna count this as a blessing."

'Love Island USA' Season 5 premiered on Peacock on Tuesday, July 18. During premiere week, new episodes will be available to stream every day at 9 pm ET. Subsequently, new episodes will be released on Thursdays through Tuesdays on Peacock.
