How Bryan Bauemler saved Page Turner's life on HGTV's 'Rock The Block'
If you're a fan of HGTV, then you're probably feeling a little down now that season 4 of 'Rock the Block' has come to a close. In just six episodes, this series brought together some of the network's most beloved stars and packed in a ton of creative design ideas that left viewers begging for more. The finale episode was highly anticipated, as previous 'Rock the Block' champions Jasmine Roth, Egypt Sherrod, and Mike Jackson had the tough task of picking a winner. They were tasked with deciding which team had added the most value to the home, and each team had one final chance to impress by updating the study and bonus garage.
The teams included some of HGTV's biggest names, such as Sarah and Bryan Baeumeler from 'Renovation Island', Michel Smith Boyd and Anthony Elle from 'Luxe for Less', Jonathan Knight and Kristina Crestin from 'Farmhouse Fixer', and Page Turner and Mitch Glew from 'Fix My Flip'. Together, they tackled the kitchen, living area, master suite, lower level, and exterior, using their unique design styles to transform the home in exciting ways. The winners of this season are Michel and Anthony. Despite the series being too short for our liking, Rock the Block Season 4 was an absolute blast to watch, and we can't wait to see what creative challenges the HGTV stars will tackle next.

How did Bryan Baeumler save Page Turner's life on 'Rock the Block'?
The altitude of the Rocky Mountains may have left some contestants feeling on top of the world, but for Turner of 'Rock the Block,' it was a different story. In a late-night Instagram post on March 22, the HGTV star revealed that the high altitudes left her feeling anything but stellar. Her caption read, "That pic is so dramatic but I felt so awful!! Adjusting to the altitude in Berthoud, CO while filming #RocktheBlock was AWFUL! Berthoud is just 12 miles from the Rocky Mountains and I believe 4K ft above sea level so the air was thin and I had a hard time breathing.”
The post shows a montage of Turner sitting in her trailer receiving supplemental oxygen from the 'Rock the Block' medical team via a nasal cannula on different filming days. As it turns out, adjusting to the altitude in Berthoud, Colorado, was 'AWFUL,' according to Turner. The town, located just 12 miles from the Rocky Mountains, has an average elevation of 5,030 feet above sea level, a far cry from the 305 feet above sea level in Los Angeles, where Turner spends the rest of her year. The thin air at high altitudes can cause low oxygen saturation levels, especially for those not accustomed to such heights. For Turner, this led to symptoms such as shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, mental confusion, and headaches.
Despite feeling unwell the entire time she was there, Turner pressed on and did her best to 'breathe differently.' However, she needed help and received support from the 'Rock the Block' EMS team, who ensured she was okay. Turner's fellow 'Rock the Block' contestants, Bryan and Sarah, also came to her aid, providing a portable, personal oxygen bottle to help her keep going. It's heartwarming to see that even in the midst of heated competition, the HGTV stars were able to show kindness and support for each other. The gesture was a sweet one, and Turner couldn't help but gush over their thoughtfulness. Sarah's caption also spoke about them.
She said, "And then the ahhhmazing Baeumler’s … were sooooo sweet and brought me single oxygen bottles that I was able to take all around the block and with me so that I could keep working and take my O2 whiffs when I needed. Like OMGGGGGGG to be that thoughtful … We’re all in a tough competition, but I promise you, these teams have my heart! xoxo”"
Sarah Bauemler is thankful for a 'wild ride' on 'Rock the Block'
Page couldn't contain her excitement as she took to Instagram to share her heartfelt journey and gratitude towards HGTV for making the latest season of 'Rock the Block' a massive success. The photo that accompanied her post featured all eight of the talented HGTV stars, including the winners of the season, Anthony and Michel. In her caption, she couldn't help but express her pride in what she had achieved alongside her partner, Bryan. But she was also quick to acknowledge the behind-the-scenes team who worked tirelessly to make the show happen. It's refreshing to see someone in the limelight acknowledge and appreciate the efforts of the people who work behind the camera.
Her caption read, "What a wild ride! It was an absolute pleasure to work alongside such an amazing group of talent from @hgtv. Bryan and I are so proud of what our team accomplished in only 6 weeks with the help of incredible trades, site supers, developers, production crews, directors & more! There are so many people behind the scenes on a production like this and they deserve praise and recognition for all they do. Please join me in thanking them from the bottom of our hearts. A BIG congratulations to our neighbours @michelboyd and @anthonyelle for Rocking the Block! We never could have imagined the friendships that would be formed over the course of these few months in Colorado. Thank you to this amazing group of rockstars."
What's even more exciting is that Page revealed in her post that they're currently neighbors with this season's winners, Anthony and Michel. Can you imagine living next door to the winners of a design competition that you've just competed in? It's the stuff that dreams are made of! The post generated a lot of buzz in the comment section, with familiar faces from the show chiming in to express their joy in working with such a talented and supportive group of individuals. Even Ty Pennington couldn't resist sharing his excitement. It's clear that the bond created between the cast members of 'Rock the Block' extends beyond the show, and that's what makes it so special. The show may have come to an end, but the memories and relationships formed during the season will last a lifetime.
