While speaking to the Wrap, Sonoya Mizuno revealed that the kiss was unscripted and felt organic to both the actors. The script had them being close to each other before being interrupted.

Sonoya said, "It wasn’t scripted as a kiss. I think it was scripted as … there’s just breath between them or something, and then whatever happens is interrupted." She further went on to say that the idea came from Emma D'Arcy who then had many conversations with showrunner Ryan Condal and decided to go on with the kiss, as per the source.

Sonoya further said that the moment felt organic for both of them. She said, "Because we were in the separate room … [and] Mysaria has told this story, [D’Arcy] felt the instinct to hold her, to comfort her,” she added. “From that, it felt so organic to go into the kiss,” as per the source.

The moment began with a hug that then transitioned into a passionate kiss. Sonoya added, "I think it was the hug — the intimate vulnerability of that hug — which which morphed into this very tender and passionate kiss, which was quite … amazing. I think it’s very thrilling in the moment for both of them.”, as per the source

Fans express their feelings about the kiss online

Fans were taken aback by the kiss and reacted online to the epic moment in Episode 6. The moment created a stir on the internet as fans weighed in on the moment.

A Reddit user said, "Rhaenyra and Myzaria kissing fits Rhaenyras character". The user further added, "It fits the books description of her being someone that sleeps around in her court at dragonstone. Book was exaggerated due to propaganda, Rhaenyra has always been a rebel at heart since the first episode of the first season."

A Reddit user also found the moment relevant as it confirmed another conspiracy from Rhaenyra's past, "I think it is a way to confirm that Rhaenyra and Alicent had a thing when they were younger or perhaps they loved each other but never took their relationship that far because Alicent knew her duties as a woman so it made them grow further apart."

Some fans had a problem with the timing of the kiss as it happened right after Mysaria talked about her childhood abuse. A Reddit user said, "Honestly I'd be more up for it if it hadn't happened right after Mysaria confided about her sexual assault."

Another Reddit user said, "When I first read the leaks, I thought that it was one of Daemon's hallucinations. But as it was apparently real, I fear this will end badly for Rhaenyra, since I don't trust Mysaria at all."
