'Hometown Cha Cha Cha': Stray Kids' Seungmin set to release solo OST song for K-drama
Seungmin has several solo events, starting with a magazine shoot and the OST release, followed by a radio show hosting stint in the 2nd week of October
One of K-pop's most sought-after groups from the fourth generation of idols, Stray Kids, has been in the news constantly for their latest projects. On October 6, the group released their second Japanese single, 'Scars' after their thunderous comeback with their full-length album, 'Noeasy'. The hit album won them many titles, chart entries, sales achievements as well as music show wins, making it the most successful album of their career.
With the album release behind them, fans are now enjoying a lot of solo activities from each of the members. On October 8, it was announced that Seungmin, the second youngest member of the group is set to take the K-pop industry by storm. He is reported to have not one but three solo projects including an OST feature in one of the most successful K-dramas of 2021.
Seungmin's OST feature
The 16-episode K-drama, 'Hometown Cha Cha Cha' is now the topmost ranking drama viewed globally starring Kim Seonho who was last seen in the Netflix drama, 'Start Up' as the second lead, and Shin Minah who was seen in the 2020 film, 'Diva.' As the K-drama is now nearing its end, an episode that featured Seungmin's heavenly vocals popped up to delight of the show's fans.
In the 12th episode of the drama (that aired on October 3), Seungmin, who is Stray Kids' vocalist, lent his soulful voice for the song titled, 'Here Always'. On October 8, Stone Music Entertainment, the label producing the OST for the drama, announced 'Here Always' (as performed by Seungmin) would be part of the 'Part 7' album of the show's original soundtrack.
'Here Always' has slow tempo
According to Stone Music Entertainment, 'Here Always' is a slow-tempo song with a hint of lo-fi pop music, much like the other soundtrack singles from the show. The beats blend well with the acoustic voice of Stay Kids' Seungmin who has won the hearts of many Stays (Stray Kids fandom).
Fans will be able to hear Seungmin give his take on the song and present the emotions of the characters. The song was first heard in episode 10 of the drama that aired on September 26 but this first iteration was not by Seungmin. Episode 10 was also was the drama's most highly rated episode so far. The song was part of the pivotal scene where the two main leads of the show, Hong Dushik, and Yoon Hyejin confess their feelings for each other.
The full track will make its official release through all major music platforms for fans on October 10 at 6.00 pm KST (5 am ET).
Other than an OST feature, Seungmin will also appear in a photo shoot for a magazine. He was also reported to be a special host on the radio show, 'Kiss the Radio' show, a KBS program from October 11 to October 15 replacing Day 6's Young K who will enlist in the military.
