Hideo Kojima gets mistaken as Tetsuya Yamagami
With an intention to discuss Shinzo Abe’s assassin Tetsuya Yamagami, French far-right politician Damien Rieu ended up sharing the pictures of Hideo Kojima. The Greek news channel ANT1 TV also ran a segment discussing Abe's death. They too used the same pictures of Kojima, identifying him as the murderer.
According to the publication Kotaku, the segment said, “Tetsuya has confessed to his actions to the police, admitting that he wanted Abe dead because he was disappointed and upset with him. The police have learned that he [the culprit] had served in the Navy Special Forces and taught a unit in Medical School on Physiotherapy for dementia patients. He was passionate about Che Guevara." Kojima has, so far, not commented on the misidentification. MEAWW will keep you posted.

Tetsuya Yamagami, who is a military veteran, was arrested on the spot for attempted murder. He had a homemade double barrel gun on him, and is reported to have told investigators that he was dissatisfied with Abe and targeted him with an intention to kill, NHK reported. A sound similar to that of a gunshot was heard during his speech. An NHK reporter added that they heard two consecutive bangs during Abe’s speech around 11:30 am local time. Shinzo Abe, for the uninitiated, was already suffering from poor health for the last few years.
