‘He’s just staring at her’: Rollan Roberts II slammed for slow response to fainting pregnant wife
CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA: Rollan Roberts II, a Republican, didn’t have the best of starts when it came to announcing his presidential bid for the White House 2024. The businessman from West Virginia was giving a speech appealing to people to vote for him for office, but in a dramatic event, his wife, Rebecca Lea Roberts, fainted and fell on the ground. What followed was a bit surprising for many people, as the aspiring president just looked at her without coming to her rescue until many aides rushed to help her.
Later, Roberts II revealed that his wife is pregnant with their first child, and lauded the timely intervention of medical staff. “Can we give a hand to the medical team for their assistance? She (Rebecca) is five months pregnant,” he said. Rebecca was seen going down, while the American flag placed next to her fell on her too. It was immediately taken off her by his aide, standing nearby. Rebecca, was later seen sitting on a chair as Rollan Roberts II, continued with his speech.

Since the video of January 21, went viral, Rollan Roberts II is facing a lot of backlash on social media platforms for his delayed response to assist his wife. Moreover, he shared an edited clip on his social media account, clipping the incident. One user wrote on Twitter, "I had to look him up, and in the process, found the bio for Rollan Robert’s Sr. This is as Christian conservative as it gets. Watching his prego wife flop around on the floor because he felt too important to go to her side, well, it’s just telling." The second user commented, "For a whole 5 seconds he's just staring at her, I guess, expecting her to bounce back up, so she doesn't ruin his announcement for his run as President. Yes folks, we have another Ted Cruz on our hands!" Another user reacted to his announcement for presidential candidacy, and attacked his lineage, "That's his daddy. He's the failure who lost to Bruce Tutveldt for Montana state Senate, district 3 in 2012. He's also an author of millionaire self-help books (pro tip, start with daddy's millions)."
"The best thing he could’ve done for his campaign was to react QUICKLY (or at all) when his pregnant wife goes down. No matter your political affiliation, his lack of reaction in this scenario is disqualifying. Service to others is clearly not a priority," another Twitterati 'disqualified' him from the race. One wrote, “Highly concerned”? Roberts was the last person in the room to go to his wife’s side. A “highly concerned” husband would have been rushing to his wife’s side before that flagpole hit the ground, podium be damned."
