Henry Ruggs was driving at 156 mph and twice over alcohol limit at time of fatal crash
SPRING VALLEY, LAS VEGAS: Shocking details have emerged as Las Vegas police investigated the fiery crash at the Rainbow Boulevard near Spring Valley Parkway on November 2 involving the now-fired Raiders' player Henry Ruggs III. He crashed into a woman's Toyota Rav-4 that instantly caught flames. The vehicle belonged to a 23-year-old woman who has now been identified as Tina Tintor. Her dog who was also present in the car died in the crash as well which happened at 3:39 am on Nov 2 Tuesday. Ruggs III was immediately rushed to University Medical Center in Vegas where he was treated for minor injuries following which he was arrested. A mugshot of him with a neck brace has been released by authorities.
Ruggs' girlfriend on the other hand who was in the car with him has been seriously injured in the crash, according to the police. A new video released by police shows the damage to the vehicles after Ruggs crashed his Chevrolet into Tintor's car allegedly in an impaired condition due to very high blood alcohol content. The vehicle immediately caught fire, killing Tintor on the spot. Ruggs is facing felony charges of DUI causing death and reckless driving. He made an appearance in court on November 3 at 9 am in a wheelchair. He has hired Robert Durst's lawyers for his case and till the trial is on, he has been ordered to abstain from alcohol and other controlled substances. He was ordered to not drive and to surrender his passport.

Ruggs was driving at 156 mph
Prosecutors, in this case, revealed Henry Ruggs III was driving with 0.16 blood-alcohol level which is twice the legal limit. He appeared in front of Judge Joe Bonaventure of the Las Vegas Justice Court who said he couldn't recall seeing a speed as high as Ruggs was driving. The wide-receiver was driving at 156 miles per hour, two seconds before the crash according to the Las Vegas Review Journal. He was going 127 mph when the airbags deployed. A loaded gun was also found in his car.
Ruggs hasn't been formally charged in the case. He is due to appear in court on November 10 where he will be charged at the time. He could face two to 20 years for felony DUI resulting in death and the charge for reckless driving carried a sentence of one to six years. His attorneys David Chesnoff and Richard Schonfeld released a statement hours after the crash asking "everyone to reserve judgment until all the facts are gathered." According to Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson, Ruggs could face additional charges including another felony DUI because his girlfriend Rudy Washington's injuries.
