Hearse driver saved by dead body after car plunges over canyon in Colorado
DENVER, COLORADO: In a miraculous escape, a dead body saved the life of a hearse driver after he lost control and almost plunged into a canyon. The incident took place on January 29, in Colorado where the body weight of the deceased kept the balance of the second half of the vehicle. The driver hailed from funeral home service Hubbard & Sons in Grand Junction and was transferring the body for organ donation in the snowy wee hours.
He had to change lanes after a speeding motorist approached, which made him lose control of the hearse and crash onto the barrier of Interstate 70, as per CBS New Colorado. The incident came to light on Monday, April 17, as the footage showed the front two wheels dangling on the precipice of a scary drop. The driver and his family didn’t want to be interviewed on camera and told the news channel that it was ultimately the body weight in the back of the car that kept it from sliding into a canyon. Even one of the responding officers was heard saying in the footage, “That’s a lucky motherf—-r right there.”
