Hayden Panettiere's brother Jansen 'popped pills like gum balls' and looked 'wasted', reveal neighbors
NYACK, NEW YORK: Actor Jansen Panettiere, the brother of actress Hayden Panettiere, died on February 19, 2023, at the age of 28. 'The Walking Dead' was found dead by a friend, and on Sunday night, around 5.30 pm, police officers were called to his residence.
Though there are no foul plays reported about the death, his neighbors have now revealed the shocking details of his addiction to opioids and drugs over the last year. They have claimed that Jansen had been "popping painkillers like gumballs" over the years, as per Daily Mail. Meanwhile, The 'Nashville' star has not yet addressed the death of her only sibling.

Did Jansen Panettiere have a drug addiction?
Neighbors of Jansen have claimed that the 28-year-old had a tough time dealing with addiction. They claimed that he sobered up only after completing a stint in rehab in 2022. However, in the last few months, things changed drastically. "He'd come out of a car at 4 am wasted. He said he was just coming back from a shoot. He looked destroyed," said a local.
"He was very nice guy, very friendly; he was an artist and an actor. Very friendly and generous; he would always offer me help," said another. The neighbor added, "When he moved out of here; he disappeared. Then his father came and got his stuff out and said I have to get him out of here. Then he left for a year." Further, the neighbor claimed, "When he left he probably went into rehab. He moved out, his dad grabbed his stuff. When he came back he looked okay in the beginning. He looked like a different person. He came back straightened up. Then he went downhill from there."
Meanwhile, Jansen has never acknowledged that he was addicted to drugs. However, he had once claimed, " I AM a good person. I don’t do anything illegal illegal, or at least I don’t do illegal things that hurt people in front of me, if that makes sense. I've done drugs, but I don’t steal. Not to say that anyone that’s ever stolen something is a bad person and far from it. Meaning I have my moments like everyone else. I was frustrated with the whole acting thing so that I would take it out on weird things like clothes," as per Daily Mail.
What is the cause of Jansen Panettiere's death?
The cause of the actor cum graffiti artist's death is still unknown. Jansen was found dead at his residence by his three friends Benjamin Brown, Joe Fails, and Lars Arianti. The trio was worried as Jansen did not turn up for a pre-arranged meeting and hence, they visited his house. At the residence, they found him "sitting upright in a chair unresponsive," and tried to revive him with CPR. Later, they got in touch with Jansen and Hayden's father, Alan 'Skip' Panettiere. Skip told EMTs he had spoken to Jansen "via telephone the night before" and that he "sounded okay." According to the report by EMT, "Deceased was pronounced dead on arrival by an EMT." Orangetown Police Sgt. Peter Maher said, "There were no obvious signs of trauma observed. As part of this ongoing investigation we are awaiting an official determination of the cause of death from the Rockland County Medical Examiner," as per Daily Mail.
