'Percy Jackson' drops the first look at Percy and Annabeth's dance after Season 2 finale and we're loving it
If you thought that the Season 2 finale of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians' was the best the Disney+ show could ever come up with, you're in for a surprise. Given the show's popularity based on the Rick Riordan novel series, Season 3 was already greenlit on March 14 last year, well before the sophomore season premiered in December. Furthermore, Season 2 ended with a post-credits scene that teased what's to come in the third instalment of the show, and it's pretty exciting!
As reported by Deadline, the finale episode of the second season of 'Percy Jackson' featured two intriguing post-credits scenes. The first one found Circe in her own habitat, getting up to her own designs. The second one featured Walker Scobell's Percy and Leah Sava Jeffries's Annabeth standing on the edge of the dance floor in what looks like a high school gymnasium. All of a sudden, Annabeth draws in a deep breath and takes hold of Percy's hand before bringing him along to the dance floor. It is a known fact that this high school dance scene opens up the third Riordan book on which the upcoming season will be based, i.e., 'The Titan's Curse'. Director James Bobin had previously mentioned that the dance would comprise one of the pivotal scenes in the next season.
The third season officially kicked off production in Vancouver on August 7, 2025, and is scheduled to conclude in March. Several pivotal moments from the source material are on their way to finding expression on the screen, and this was confirmed by Scobell in an interview back in December last year when he revealed that he had filmed 'a really big scene in the middle of a junkyard.'
The confirmed cast of the upcoming season includes several new additions alongside the familiar faces. Dafne Keen of 'Logan' fame is set to portray the critical character of Artemis, along with Olive Abercrombie playing Bianca di Angelo. Levi Chrisopulos, on the other hand, is a fresh face who will be seen as Nico di Angelo, i.e., the other half of the children of Hades. Sara Chaudry is set to appear as the immortal hunter and Artemis's lieutenant Zoë Nightshade. Furthermore, Kate McKinnon is set to appear as Aphrodite, alongside Holt McCallany's Titan Atlas.
Speaking in an interview with Collider, 'Percy Jackson' showrunner Craig Silverstein shared his exclusive insights about Percy's journey in the upcoming season when he said, "The Great Prophecy is on the table. Percy feels like that's a huge burden to carry on his shoulders. It's scary to think about it riding on someone else's shoulders, right? But he has learned that he can get through just about anything with his friends. I guess the scary thing is that if one of those friends isn't around, it would throw everything into the air and make it tough. It doesn't get easier for Percy Jackson as things go on. Even though he gets more powerful, it's like, more power, more problems." 'Percy Jackson' is exclusively available on Disney+.
