BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: Massachusetts police probed a location on Friday, April 7, 2023, in connection to the Harmony Montgomery case. Harmony, 5, vanished in 2019 and her father Adam Montgomery, 32, was indicted in January 2023 on charges of second-degree murder. The authorities are now looking out for possible clues in the city of Revere, six miles outside of Boston.

According to local ABC News outlet WCVB, Massachusetts State Police spokesperson David Procopio said that Friday's search took place in the wetlands along Route 107. He informed the outlet that the search had been "prompted by information developed by investigators." The authorities were also assisted by Massachusetts State Police Drone Unit and K-9 teams. Additionally, 18 troopers from the Massachusetts State Police Special Emergency Response Team who are trained for handling searches in rough terrains were deployed at the location.

'No additional information will be released'

Massachusetts State Police said they would not reveal further information to avoid speculation. "Due to the ongoing investigation, no additional information will be released at this time," a spokesperson explained to WCVB, adding, "Officials caution against any speculation related to the potential results of this search."

Harmony's mom claimed she tried to contact her for months

Harmony was killed in late 2019, authorities believe. In that same year, the 5-year-old went missing between November 28 and December 10. Her mother Crystal Sorey reported that Harmony had vanished in November 2021. She claimed that she had been trying to contact her daughter for months. Sorey had reportedly last seen her daughter alive during a video conversation in April 2019.

Harmony's stepmother pleaded guilty

Harmony's stepmother Kayla Montgomery pleaded guilty to two felony counts of perjury after lying to a New Hampshire grand jury. She falsely claimed that she last saw the missing child in November 2019. The stepmother was then sentenced to three-and-a-half to seven years in a New Hampshire state prison.

Before her disappearance, Harmony lived in squatter-like conditions in a messy home with her father and stepmother after they were awarded custody of the five-year-old in February 2019.

Neighbors reported multiple fights

Neighbors reported cases of multiple fights and possible child abuse to the authorities. Adam was accused of repeatedly striking Harmony in the head with a closed fist a few months later in December 2019. As per the police reports, they responded at least 16 times to the Montgomery residence between January 2019 and January 2020. Harmony was blind in one eye and had behavioral needs.

Anyone with information pertaining to Harmony's case is still urged to contact a 24-hour tip line at 603-203-6060.
