'Karen' with 2 dogs blocks Black woman from entering supermarket aisle, Internet calls her 'dumb Trumpini'
A 'Karen' blocked a Black woman from entering an aisle inside a grocery store. The 'Karen' claimed the woman was going the wrong way though it was she herself who seemed to go in the wrong direction. The video was shared by Perez Hilton on his TikTok channel The initial part of the exchange between the two women was not recorded. The video starts with the woman requesting the 'Karen' to move away.
The woman can be heard saying, "You’re in my way. I need to get seasoning". The 'Karen', inside the store with her two dogs, refuses to move and shakes her head in response to the woman. A woman who is taking the recording asks the 'Karen', "You won’t let her get seasoning?" to which she just shrugs in response and doesn't move. The woman, who is being blocked, then asks people to get a manager to intervene. The woman can be heard asking someone off-camera, "Can you call the manager, please?" The 'Karen' then says the woman had been going down the aisle the wrong way. Some stores have introduced one-way shopping aisles as a safety measure to avoid overcrowding during the pandemic.
There are markings on the floor which seem to indicate that the Black woman had been going in the right direction and was standing as per the arrow marking. This also showed that it was very likely that the 'Karen' had been going the wrong way. None of the women have been identified yet. Many social media users slammed the 'Karen' and asked why she had her dogs in the store. One such user wrote, "Mental illness in this case, I think. Also, what are dogs doing inside a grocery store?" Another added, "Another dumb Trumpini."
'Karen' has become a popular moniker to describe middle-aged women who talk down to people with differing opinions or are overly sensitive. We had earlier reported the case of another 'Karen' who went viral across social media after she threw more than a dozen food items in a frenzy from her grocery cart in a supermarket as she was asked to put her mask back on. The shopper, yet to be identified, could be heard saying, "I don’t give a f**k, I’m from Dallas!" As she threw her groceries onto the floor, she yelled, "Put all that s**t the f**k back. I don’t give a f**k. I got a f**king mask."
The video had been recorded by Omar Guillen who took to Twitter to share it on Sunday, June 28. He revealed that the incident had taken place in a Fiesta Mart in Dallas, Texas. Guillen shared, "She was wearing [a mask] while she was shopping but by the time she got to the checkout line she took it off and refused to put it back on." "She was told cops would be called but did her tantrum and left before they showed up. As for what happened after, I have no idea," he added. The video went viral and was also shared by Chrissy Teigen who said, "I’m so tired of people, man."
