'Gossip Girl' Episode 2: After Olivia Jade show targets celebrity manager Scooter Braun
The very first episode of 'Gossip Girl' showed that the snarkiness wasn't just restricted to on-screen characters. Olivia Jade, social media star and the daughter of actor Lori Loughlin who found herself embroiled in a college admissions controversy, was referred to on the show when some of the characters were talking about losing. One of the characters while talking about the fallouts of losing in life says, "Everything will be fine so long as you win. Olivia Jade gained followers when her mom went to jail."
Olivia Jade posted a video of herself on TikTok reacting to the comment on the show saying that no she didn't while looking quizzical. It seems that pop culture potshots may be something of a staple on the show because this week it was time for a Scooter Braun reference when Monet de Haan (Savannah Smith) in what fans are realizing is her trademark brutal style says when plotting a rival's end on social media says, "Before you know it that bitch will be spammed out of existence even more swiftly than Scooter". Scooter Braun has always been in the news for his feud with singer Taylor Swift and Scooter and Taylor's dealings came to an extremely acrimonious end after the singer called out Braun and Big Machine's CEO and founder Scott Borchetta publicly for gaining ownership of all her previous works, without keeping her informed about the same.
