'Good Girls' Season 3 Episode 10 Preview: Will Beth actually manage to kill Rio this time?
After an entire season of going back and forth about whether they should kill Rio and what the consequences of it may be, Beth and company finally hire a hitman in the previous Episode 9.
And while promos for the upcoming Episode 10 of Season 3 reveal Beth is, in fact, going forward with her plans, the real question that lingers is whether she will actually be able to finish what she started at the end of Season 2?
As we inch closer to this season's finale, Beth keeps digging a hole for herself deeper and deeper. It started with lying about being pregnant, then with the miscarriage, and trying to flirt her way up in Rio's good books, losing Lucy and having her own allies question their faith in the ringleader.
Now, with the police having caught a whiff of the nail paint in the formula for their fake money, Beth, Ruby and Annie are swirling in a whirlpool of mess initiated by Beth.
And with Ruby's conscience jabbing her in the form of her kids' takeaways on her lifestyle, Annie remains Beth's only albeit unreliable resort. Yet they have ventured into hiring a hitman together so they are all accomplices in this tryst with destiny, but something tells us it will be met with failure again.
The sheer reason behind this idea is Beth's presence alongside the hitman. Beth was present the last time Rio came close to losing his life. Well, she had to, because she was the one who shot him thrice and left him to bleed to his death.
And now, the official promo sees her standing next to the hitman as he aims for a shot at Rio while the man is about to get out of his car. Beth says "do it" with just as much conviction as she had shot her former flame at the end of the second season.
Even though she means to shoot Rio and bleed the life out of him for whatever he's putting them through, there's no denying that Beth and Rio do have an inexplicable connection which dominates everything.
For all we know, she could be in love with him, and this unwillingness to take him out fatally — something she is probably in denial of — is what ruins their chances of erasing Rio's menacing presence in their lives.
Rio might also know better and is already armed with a tip and has damage control ready should Beth pull another one of those stunts. But if amidst all oddities, she does manage to execute this plan to perfection, her dangers will still be far from over.
With Rio, Beth sort of has a cover for the money laundering that the police are hunting leads down for. Without Rio in the picture, while she claims they can stop printing, we saw how much they could control themselves at the beginning of the season when they thought Rio was, in fact, out of the picture.
So a Rio-less scenario could actually mean two things: the titular trio going overboard with printing, or if they get caught, the blame lands entirely on Beth. The moment Beth factors this in, she might reconsider wiping Rio out.
'Good Girls' Season 3 airs on Sundays at 10 pm on NBC.
