'Good Girls' season 3 will test Beth, Annie and Ruby's sisterhood in ways we have never seen before

How their friendship is tested will be revealed when season 3 premieres on NBC, but we do know that they can never truly be mad at each other

NBC’s ‘Good Girls’ has taken Beth (Christina Hendricks), Ruby (Rhetta) and Annie (Mae Whitman) through a rollercoaster ride. Following the initial decision to rob a grocery store, they have decided to more or less go with the flow. Season 3, however, is going to be different.

The ladies are ready to grab life by the balls and truly be the bosses of their business now that Rio (Manny Montana) is out of the picture. No more pay cuts despite risking their lives, no more fearing the aggression of a gang leader. Ruby, Annie, and Beth can now do as they please to expand their criminal careers.

However, not everything is going to be butterflies and rainbows, with season 2 finale making Beth's ambitions clear. She may have had indescribable feelings of lust for Rio, but she did shoot him down and is now ready to move on. Frustrated with her monotonous life of baking, taking care of the children and looking after the household, Beth is looking for thrill and excitement in crime, and we are all for it.

Ruby and Annie, however, may not be. Ruby, primarily because she is not willing to jeopardize her marriage again, and Annie because, well, she doesn’t like anyone telling her what to do. Also, she may very well have an FBI agent for a boyfriend when the show returns. That remains to be seen.

We know the pattern now, though.

Annie will complain about things not going exactly how she wants, and never being allowed to be in charge, while Ruby will try to argue about the dangers of what is entering into, before getting completely obsessed with something mundane.

In the end, though, they will both agree and the sisterhood of the suburban moms will continue as it did.

Based on executive producer Jenna Bans’s conversations with the press, we do know that their friendship will be pushed further than ever before in the upcoming season. Not only are they going into the world of crime without their “mentor,” they have a new addition—a graphic designer who will help them make counterfeit notes.

How their friendship is tested will be revealed when season 3 premieres on NBC, but we do know that they can never truly be mad at each other.
