13-year-old pregnant girl claims 10-year-old boy is the father and they had sex after 'love at first sight'
A pregnant teen has claimed that a 10-year-old boy is the father of her child and that they had sex after falling in love at first sight.
Daria, 13, and Ivan, 10, have caught the attention of the entirety of Russia after they appeared on a television show to talk about the former's pregnancy and how their relationship bloomed so quickly after meeting each other, according to the Mirror.
The pair said they met around a year ago and hit it off immediately. "A friend of mine introduced us and two days later we started dating," Daria revealed. "Ivan said he was in love with me. We tried to spend as much time together as we could. We like walking down the streets holding hands and kissing."
"Ivan has gastritis and I do not allow him to drink carbonated beverages," she added, stating they took care of each other like any other couple. "Sometimes I worry about my weight but he says that I am in perfect shape and do not need to go on a diet. He is very kind."
Asked about how she had become pregnant, Daria said they had sex at Ivan's home while his mother was away and that, afterward, they "hid from each other under the blanket out of shame."
She shared that, in the following days, she started to feel sick and nauseated, and that even doctors at the hospital could not find the source of her "illness". Finally, her mother Elena bought her a pregnancy test, which confirmed she was with child.
"The test showed that Daria was pregnant," said Elena, who was also on the show. "After that, she confessed to having sex with Ivan. I was in shock. I could not say a word."
Daria insisted that, despite her age, she plans on keeping the child. "When I was thinking about the delivery process, I was scared," she said, "but then I saw my baby during an ultrasound. It was so tiny and cute. Now I am ready to give birth."
It is a decision Elena supports. "When we started talking, she said she would not kill the baby and I support her decision. I do not want her to go under the knife," the mother said.
Ivan and his mother, Galina, will be helping raise the child. "I did not know what to say after learning that my 10-year-old son fathered a child," Galina admitted. "I think Ivan himself does not quite understand what happened. They did not use any contraceptives and obviously did not realize the possible consequences," she went on to say.
However, neighbors have said they reserve doubts about Ivan being the father, with one man living next door stating he feels someone else got her pregnant and wants to shift the blame onto the 10-year-old.
Dr. Evgeny Grekov, a urology and andrology expert, similarly said tests had proved the young boy could not be the father. "We rechecked the laboratory results three times so there cannot be any mistake," he explained. "There cannot be sperm cells. He is still a child. There is even no testosterone. And just to add, he still has childish sex organs. Puberty has not started."
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
