Why was Joseph Gatt arrested? 'Game of Thrones' star slams charge of 'sexual communication with a minor'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Game of Thrones' star Joseph Gatt was arrested earlier this month for allegedly engaging in “online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines.” On April 6, the actor was arrested after the Los Angeles Police Department served a search warrant at Gatt’s LA home. The 50-year-old was taken into custody and booked with an outstanding felony warrant for contact with a minor for sexual offense.
The case is being investigated by LAPD’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, which said it was an “ongoing investigation” It urged anyone with information to contact cops. TMZ reported that the 'Thor' actor was released on $5,000 bail.

"Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, are seeking to identify any additional victims after the arrest of 50-year-old Joseph Gatt, a Los Angeles resident," an LAPD press release said. "On April 6, 2022, around 4:45 a.m., detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Juvenile Division, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, served a residential search warrant at the home of Joseph Gatt in the area of 3rd Street and La Jolla, after they received information that Gatt had been engaged in online sexually explicit communication with a minor across state lines. He was subsequently arrested by detectives for an outstanding felony warrant for California Penal Code 288.3(a) – Contact with a Minor for Sexual Offense."
"This case is an ongoing investigation being investigated by the Los Angeles Police Department, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Gatt denied the accusations in a Twitter post. "I obviously want to address the absolutely horrifying and complete untrue allegations recently leveled against me," Gatt wrote. "“They are 100% categorically wrong and reckless. I have confirmed errors and misleading information in today’s press release. I am fully cooperating with police and LAPD to get to the bottom of this. I look forward to clearing my good name.” He added, "Thank you to all of my friends and supporters who know that this is untrue and understand for legal reasons I cannot comment further on social media."
Gatt is known for famously portraying Thenn Warg on the HBO series 'Game of Thrones'. He recently appeared in the supernatural horror thriller 'Titanic 666'.
