'Game of Thrones' season 8 episode 2 teaser shows Jaime headed for trouble

While the first episode was the opening act of the long play, episode 2 will waste no time in getting down to the real drama.

THIS ARTICLE CONTAINS SPOILERS

Episode 1 of the final season of 'Game of Thrones' ended on a cliffhanger with Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) confronting the Kingslayer, Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj- Coster Waldau), as he was the last main character to arrive in Winterfell. Just like all the other characters, their past takes them a long way back where Jaime's certain impulsive action had a significant impact on Bran's life. Also, Jaime's arrival in Winterfell might be one way of provoking Daenerys' (Emilia Clarke) quick temper, as he was the one who killed her father. We all know how she is infamous for her impulsive temper which leads her to burn men alive.

While Episode 2 is set to arrive next Sunday, here's everything that can be expected from the upcoming episode.

Episode 1 saw the arrival of the foreigners to the North. (IMDb)

1. The Kingslayer on trial

Jaime Lannister's arrival to Winterfell is pretty much the same as stepping into the fire without any caution. He has the blood of Daenerys' father on his hands and at the same time, is responsible for Bran being a cripple. The upcoming episode will see him confront his reality as a murderer in spite of the years of deeds which he had executed as an attempt to redeem himself. Daenerys threatens to burn him to death but it is likely she will hold that thought for a while since as of now there are more pressing concerns that need to be handled. On the other hand, it will be interesting to see how Bran deals with the man who made him a cripple in the first place.

2. Sansa confronts Daenerys

The two did not start off on a very positive note and although Sansa did offer Daenerys her loyalty it was clear the Lady of Winterfell was unwilling to let one more foreign invader enter her land. Their brief argument about what dragons eat in Episode 1 was enough to indicate their unstable dynamic, and it seems episode 2 will see the two of them take each other head-on. The promo trailer shows us the two arguing over how the other should have never trusted Cersei, who not only held back her army from marching North but also gathered the Golden Company to invade all those places Daenerys had won over the years.

Daenerys might face her first obstacle in Episode 2. (IMDb)

3. The messengers from the wall

Tormund and the rest have somehow managed to escape the Night King's attack on the Wall in the last season, and this season they finally got a message from the Night King which was basically a warning about their approach to Winterfell. Episode 2 will finally see them arrive in the Northern kingdom, where Jon has recently discovered about his true parentage and is about to face his own destiny as the Ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. The teaser for episode 2 gives us a glimpse where we see Jon being concerned about what happened on the Wall and how the Night King is riding his way to Winterfell on an ice-breathing Dragon.

4. The last night before the Long Night

Tormund declares to Jon that the Night King would reach Winterfell "before the sun comes out tomorrow". The promo trailer immediately shows us the battalion taking their places on the boundaries in order to fight the White Walkers and this indicated that Episode 1 was basically the last day before they would all engage in the Great War. Chances are Jaime's trial will be put aside for a while as they all assemble in their planned order to stop the Night King from further entering South.

'Game of Thrones' Season 8 Episode 2 will air on April 21.
