'Game of Thrones' fans prefer alternate ending where the Night King turns everyone into his council of white walkers

Fans would rather have the White Walkers end it all just to avoid the upcoming finale that is getting slammed across the internet

Spoiler alert

'Game of Thrones' fans have been fuming on social media about the disappointing manner in which the show's eighth and final season is concluding. With characters' plot arcs getting blown off for the element of shock and random deaths clouding the biggest developments, fans have even proceeded to sign an official petition to remake the final season of the HBO phenomenon. But before they did that, certain fans also established that they would rather have the Night King kill all the characters and turn them into his council of White Walkers, than the way the upcoming series finale seems to be shaping up the big ending.

It all began when an artist — who goes by the Twitter name @_HoustonSharp — shared a spine-chilling painting of the Night King sitting on the coveted Iron Throne that our favorites on the show are fighting for. Alongside the Night King can be seen his council of ministers, aka an entire army of the dead, with every single character sporting electric blue White Walker eyes, meaning everyone including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) is now serving him. It's unclear if they are still holding on to their respective houses or whether the Night King wreaked enough havoc to dissolve all the Seven Kingdoms and become the all-powerful sole ruler, but what's clear is that nobody is alive anymore.

As creepy and scary as the idea of that sounds, fans have now voiced that they would rather have that ending than Daenerys burning down the entirety of King's Landing and killing thousands of innocent lives in the process. Twitter user @mercury_vapour told MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) "(I) Would've preferred Dany dying in episode 3 (of the ongoing season 8), White walkers destroy Winterfell but not before the main characters escape and head towards KL. Cersei losing her baby and then blows up KL with wildfire when the dead breach into the city. The rem characters take cover in dragonpit."

Another user who goes by the Twitter name @LakshyaMittal2 was also thrilled about the idea of the Night King killing and turning everyone into his council of white walkers, saying it's "way better than what we got till now and what we're about to get in episode 6." User @tori_massengale explained how the whole Night King wins alternate ending is plausible, saying: "Fire and Blood! This is how the first Targaryens conquered Westeros and the writers told us the show was going to come full circle! I thought it was a great episode but then again I always saw the dark side of Dany #FireAndBlood #got #bestshowever"

While @Bronix_Flores thinks it's a "Pretty cool idea, but it would be a BIG middle finger to the major Azor Ahai prophecy, which is very central in the story," @ymukul9 asserts that "This can still happen. Goddess of death arya revives the city but that wakes the white walkers they march south and win this time and jon snow becomes a white walker and the song plays."

'Game of Thrones' returns with its series finale on Sunday, May 19, at 9 pm, only on HBO.
