Kyle Rittenhouse: Kenosha shooter accused of evading lawsuit by victim Gaige Grosskreutz's lawyers
MADISON, WISCONSIN: Gaige Grosskreutz’s attorneys have demanded federal judge to allow them more time to serve the civil lawsuit against Kyle Rittenhouse on Wednesday, February 22. The team representing the man who was shot and injured by the then 17-year-old teen has alleged that he had been evading them on purpose. As per records, US District Judge Lynn Adelman gave them the deadline which expired on the same day to serve the lawsuit on Rittenhouse and the other defendants.
According to Grosskreutz’s lawsuit, it holds Rittenhouse and other defendants, including a host of local law enforcement agencies, responsible for his injuries. He also seeks an unspecified amount of damages in his lawsuit, which was filed on October 21. Rittenhouse was earlier charged with homicide, attempted homicide, and reckless endangering for killing Huber and Joseph Rosenbaum and wounding Grosskreutz with an AR-style semi-automatic rifle in 2020.

'Unaware of Rittenhouse’s current whereabouts'
The victims were protesting in the night over the shooting of a Black man, Jacob Blake, by a white Kenosha police officer. However, Rittenhouse managed to escape all charges after convincing a jury that he shot at protesters in self-defense, according to Huffington Post report. As per Grosskreutz’s attorneys' request seeking a 60-day extension to serve him said, “[Grosskreutz] is currently unaware of Rittenhouse’s current whereabouts and is concerned that Rittenhouse is attempting to evade service.”
Rittenhouse’s attorney Mark Richards from Huber lawsuit said he is unaware of his client’s whereabouts, “I don’t know how to find Kyle. I do not currently know where Kyle is.” Judge Adelman, earlier this month denied a motion by Rittenhouse and other defendants seeking to dismiss the case in Huber's lawsuit. He said that in the case of Huber’s death “[It] could plausibly be regarded as having been proximately caused by the actions of the governmental defendants.”
'This lawsuit is an attempt to drown...'
Rittenhouse, 20, speaks out in support of gun rights and has a massive following of 1 million people on Twitter. He is currently doing fundraising in regard to the Grosskreutz lawsuit, and wrote, “This lawsuit is an attempt to drown anyone who legally and justifiably defends their lives from attackers in a mountain of legal debt. We can not let them win. If they can come after me they will come after you.” Rittenhouse shot demonstrator Grosskreutz, 27, with an illegal weapon since he was underage at the time of the shooting.
