Cherokee County Captain Jay Baker came under public outrage after saying Atlanta shooter Robert Aaron Long, who went on an Asian-massage parlour killing spree, was having "a really bad day". In follow-ups of Long's horrific rampage, his former roommate has alleged that he spent time in sex rehab and Baker's colleague Sheriff Frank Reynolds has also agreed that the shooter had some kind of "sex addiction" issues.

However, in recent news, as social media continues to shade Captain Baker for his comments and recently dug up Facebook posts sharing advertisements for racist shirts about Covid-19 and 'CHY-Na', media outlets are alluding to Reynolds' possible ties to the disgraced Blackwater USA.

Who is Frank Reynolds?

Sheriff Frank Reynolds works with Captain Jay Baker at the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Following Long's arrest, while Baker told the press Long was having a "really bad day", Reynolds said cops believe that Long "frequented these places in the past" and that he "may have been lashing out."

Soon after Baker's post was slammed by social media, the The Daily Beast contacted Reynolds, who is a Facebook friend of Baker and has the captain's photos on his accounts, who said "I am not aware of that (post of the tee shirt ad). I will have to contact him, but thank you for bringing that to my attention."

The media outlet also revealed that Reynolds’ official sheriff’s department page lists a 2005 to 2008 stint at the Department of State as part of his prior work. This stint is described entirely in abbreviations: "Department of State, WPPS HTP, IC BWUSA, 2005-2008".

The outlet links WPPS to the Worldwide Personal Protective Services, a contract that the federal government had handed the independent contractor Blackwater USA, who became infamous after private guards fatally shot 17 Iraqi civilians in Baghdad in 2007.

Did Frank Reynolds work for Blackwater?

Although nothing is mentioned explicitly, the outlet believes this campaign of Reynolds alludes to work in Iraq, even though the name of the employer is undisclosed.

A photo shared by a fellow member of the department Facebook shows Reynolds, his name labeled, with a contract number that corresponds to an "indefinite arrangement the State Department inked with Blackwater to provide security guards and control services in 2005," reports the outlet, noting there is no evidence to prove Reynolds was involved in the Baghdad massacre.

Baker is clearly being linked to the infamous organisation by association with Reynolds, but social media is not letting anything slide under The Daily Beast's tweet sharing their article.

Bearing strong opinion that Baker too was involved with the organisation, social media is in a frenzy over how Reynolds won't do anything against Baker's newly revealed racism. "Fuck this guy. Something stinks really bad. His comments and now this? He needs to be exposed. My gut tells me he’s a trump Lovin’ racist POS, & should not hold the position he holds," wrote one user.

Another separately urged: "Plot thickens. (psst... i can’t believe folks still haven’t looked into the specific police forces and sherrif offices Blackwater trained back in the early ‘10s. maybe there’s a there there."

One user commented on the possible ties with Blackwater, tweeting "Well there you go. When Blackwater agents had a bad day they went and killed some kids so Sheriff Reynolds can totally relate!" Some even noted, "He showed no emotion towards the victims, typically Blackwater psyche. They sought out the psychos to do bad things to people."
