Who is Francia Raisa? Selena Gomez's BFF narrates harrowing experience at Trump rally: 'I could've died'
Actress Francia Raisa narrated an unpleasant incident which she allegedly faced during an encounter with President Donald Trump’s supporters at one of his rallies. On her Instagram stories, a teary-eyed Raisa claimed that while she was driving on the I-405 Freeway in Los Angeles, California, she unknowingly drove into a Trump Rally and had a bad experience.
In her story, she alleged, "I was just on the 405 and I got stuck in that stupid Trump Rally and they f***ing boxed me in and they’re pointing at me and laughing at me saying ‘haha’ and literally I almost crashed because they wouldn’t let me out.” She said, “I was trying to go around it.” Raisa further alleged, “They were being so violent. I could’ve crashed. It was so dangerous." She added, "I just don’t understand that’s the country that y’all are supposedly wanting right now. Really? That’s what makes America great? That’s f***ed up. I could’ve died right now."
Who is Francia Raisa?
She is best known for her role as Adrian Lee in the series ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’. A few years back she was in the news for being Selena Gomez’s kidney donor. Gomez, in 2017, had posted a photo of her and Raisa in the hospital with the caption: "I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health."
She thanked her family and the team of doctors also in the post. She also wrote, "And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis. Lupus continues to be very misunderstood but progress is being made. For more information regarding Lupus please go to the Lupus Research Alliance website: www.lupusresearch.org/ -by grace through faith."
During a 2013 interview with Latina, when asked if she and Selena spent family time together, she had said, "Yes, we do. Six years ago Disney and ABC Family had the stars of their shows go to the Children's Hospital. Selena and I were in the same group and we just clicked." There were rumors that the two might not be on good terms anymore, but those were put to rest when Gomez, as reported by Showbiz CheatSheet, told Capital FM, "I actually got the date of when I got my kidney transplant, and uh did that with the girl who gave me her kidney." She was talking about her tattoos.
According to Insider, Raisa has two younger sisters, Iralia and Irlanda. Her father is Latin radio personality Renan Almendarez Coello, known as ‘El Cucuy’. The actress is of Honduran and Mexican descent and is bilingual.
