NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Hundreds of students from at least two high schools in Dearborn walked out of their classes on Friday morning to express their solidarity with Palestinians, advocating for freedom and safety in light of the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

Students at Edsel Ford High School and Dearborn High School joined the walkout, where they waved flags and chanted various slogans in support of Palestinians.

During the demonstration, one student at Edsel Ford used a bullhorn to lead call-and-response chants, with participants shouting phrases like "Free, free Palestine," "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free," and "Allahu Akbar," which means "God is great" in Arabic.

Following this news, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X (formerly Twitter) to update more on this news. However, the internet was left flabbergasted as several voiced their opinion on the matter.

Laura Ingraham reports on Dearborn student's protest

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham took to X and wrote, “Now this was impossible to predict…Thousands of Dearborn students chant 'Allahu Akbar' during pro-Hamas school walkout - The Midwesterner.”

Ingraham’s tweet featured an article in The Midwesterner titled, “Thousands of Dearborn students chant ‘Allahu Akbar’ during pro-Hamas school walkout.”

In the article, it was stated that hundreds of more high school students walked out of classrooms in Dearborn, Michigan to protest Israel’s response to Hamas’ attack on a hospital in Gaza.

As per Detroit News, one Dearborn High School student said, “They cannot stop us from speaking out about the injustice that's going on overseas. Everywhere across the world, there are people showing their support for Palestine."

On Friday, students in Dearborn walked out of their classes for the second consecutive day. Approximately 400 students from Fordson High School participated in a walkout on Thursday, with around 90% of the student body being of Arab American descent.

Regarding the ongoing conflict, nearly two weeks after the attacks initiated by Hamas, the Gaza Health Ministry, which is run by Hamas, reported that 4,137 Palestinians have been killed, and over 13,000 have been wounded, according to the Associated Press.

Additionally, more than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed. An Israeli military spokesperson stated that the families of 203 people believed to have been captured by Hamas and taken into Gaza had been notified, as reported by the AP.

Internet blasts at the news of students protesting for Palestinians

Soon after Laura Ingraham tweeted about thousands of Dearborn High School students marching in solidarity with Palestinians, the internet blasted on Fox News anchor’s tweet.

One person called out Ingraham adding, “Just unfathomable Laur,” and another shared their opinion on Ingraham’s caption, “Are you being sarcastic? Because this was completely predictable, even 20 years ago.”

A person simply wrote, “Our universities are a cesspool of corruption.”

One fan called out students' protest as a TikTok trend adding, “It's like a Tik Tok trend for some of these kids (adults in name only). I don't think they understand what they are actually chanting for. They just want to be cool by perceiving themselves as "anti-establishment" Very sad,” and another had a similar opinion, “I am betting this is a result of TikTok. It needs to be banned.”

Another wrote, “Hate is all they are spreading.”
