Fox News host Greg Gutfeld says 'elections don't work' as he doubles down on Civil War analogy over Philly looting
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Last week, Philadelphia reflected the concerns of surging crime rates across the country as it saw a major looting of several stores by over 70 people.
District Attorney Larry Krasner recently came forward to say that he will be going easy on the young looters and might let some of them go based on their criminal history.
While commenting on this, 'The Five' host Greg Gutfeld went on to claim that elections are no longer working in the country and once again likened the current America to the one during the Civil War.
Greg Gutfeld repeats bizarre slavery analogy over Philly looting
On the last episode from Wednesday, October 4, host Gutfeld made the comparison between the Democratic party being lenient towards criminal activities in the country to when the party endorsed slavery back when the Civil War happened.
He was slammed by co-host Jessica Tarlov for making such an analogy, given that the Democrats now stand for many different views than they did back when slavery had reigned across the nation.
"What does that leave you with? It leaves you with you need to make war to bring peace because you have a side that cannot change. Because then that means the admission that their beliefs have been corrupt all the time. So, in a way, you have to force them to surrender." pic.twitter.com/BfPK8tSXEz

Gutfeld repeated the same analogy over the case of Philadelphia's lootings as he said, "We are being driven out of cities by the "oppressed" so I return to my imperfect analogy from yesterday. We had a war over slavery. We knew slavery was inhumane and immoral, but somehow we couldn’t solve slavery peacefully."
The Fox News host said that Democrats being tolerant of criminals like the young looters from Philly is similar to them protecting slavery in antebellum America.
"It was an evil, but one side refused to acknowledge it was evil because it was too big of an admission for them to make," Gutfeld explained, "Doesn’t that feel that way now? That this defiant refusal to reverse this decline argues against the survival of a country."
He then suggested that another Civil War was the solution to resolve the crime problems of the country.
"It leaves you with you need to make war to bring peace because you have a side that cannot change," Gutfeld added.
"Because then that means the admission that their beliefs have been corrupt all the time. So, in a way, you have to force them to surrender," he further said.
Greg Gutfeld says 'elections don't matter'
On Gutfeld's suggestion of a war, Democrat co-host Harold Ford Jr placed elections on the matter as an alternative. However, it only made Gutfeld go on another furious rant, speaking up against elections.
"No, elections don't work," he claimed, "We know that. We know they don't work!"
Ford Jr responded, "They do work," to which his co-host said, "Look what we have! We had a moderate president and we have crime exploding everywhere."
He added, "We had a Democrat president promise that he was going to be moderate, promise that he was gonna unite the country and now we have a terrible education system. We have no border. We have crime everywhere."
Gutfeld concluded his rant by saying, "Every facet of society is in peril and in chaos because our elections don’t matter."
Ford Jr went on to argue, "No, elections do matter. We don’t need to go to war for it, we go to the election booth and vote the people out who don't do the things you said."
