WNEM TV 5 tweeted, "It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of former TV5 reporter and weekend anchor Faith Rempe, also known as Faith Gantner when she worked here from 2013-2016."

Faith's devastated husband, Kurt, grieved his wife's death but took solace in the fact that she "no longer has any pain. Last night, my beautiful wife and best friend Faith Rempe went to be with the Lord after a difficult 11 month battle with cancer. While we are devastated that we will no longer have her beautiful smiling face near us, we can celebrate the fact that we know she no longer has any pain and we will see her again in eternity. We ask for your continued prayers during this difficult time for our family as we start our grieving process.
Funeral and memorial arrangements will be announced in the coming days. I have peace knowing that God is in control. He has my life and our lives in his hands.
- Faith Rempe".

Faith was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer in October 2021. She documented her fight against cancer on her Facebook page “Faith’s Fight.”

Gantner grew up in Midland, Michigan, earning a broadcasting degree from Central Michigan University. She began working with WNEM TV 5 in 2013 and worked until she married her husband. The couple relocated to Las Vegas in 2016, where they both worked for the Fox 5 station. Faith was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer called Myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) in October 2021, just one month after giving birth to her second son.

At the time of her diagnosis, Faith told the Midland Daily News, “It was very shocking. It was pretty hard to take in."
Faith received a bone marrow transplant in April. She battled various complications in the months following but shared in a late July update that she was cancer-free.

Faith shared a post with her son on Instagram on July 27 with the caption, "Got some wonderful news this week. I am cancer free! I’m still getting treatment in Arizona for at least two months because the transplant wreaked havoc on my body and I’m also transfusion dependent.
Thank you to everyone who’s prayed so hard for me— I’m so thankful to get this second chance at life."

But weeks later, she landed back in the hospital with more complications and died on Wednesday.
