Florida ‘Karen’ hurls the N-word at landscapers in disturbing profanity-laced tirade caught on camera
A rather hateful 'Karen' was apprehended by authorities after she hurled racial slurs at a group of landscapers in Orlando, Florida. The woman's unhinged tirade was caught on camera, and what stood out most was how the landscapers kept their calm throughout the situation. Viral footage didn't capture what led to the outburst, but it seemed like the woman was enraged about the noise the crew was reportedly making. “You fucking bitch," the Karen is heard screaming at the group of men several times. One of the landscapers is then seen addressing the camera and saying, “This is the type of shit we go through, man,” while another says, “We didn’t even do nothing. We out here working—it’s 94 degrees.”
In the background, the woman continues to scream while standing at a distance. “Have a blessed day, ma’am," one of the workers is heard responding, before the Karen begins hurling the N-word at them.
As the crew begins to pack up their equipment, the woman doesn't stop screaming. Another nearby resident approaches the woman about two minutes into the video, and asks her to calm down. “You just keep on repeating the same thing,” he is heard saying, before moving on. "I love you, God loves you," one landscaper tells the Karen, despite her relentless barrage of insults at the crew. "You're going to pass out in the sun! You gotta go into your house!"
At least four Orlando police officers are seen approaching the woman in a second video posted to social media. “Oh, yeah!? F–king arrest me, motherf—ker!” she yells at the police before one of the officers grabs her arm and places it behind her back. A spokeswoman for the Orlando Police Department revealed Tuesday that the woman was not arrested, but taken to a medical center to undergo mental evaluation instead.
'Karen' has become a popular moniker to describe middle-aged women who talk down to people with differing opinions or are overly sensitive. Recently, a so-called 'Karen' was caught on video hurling racial slurs at protesters in Richmond, Virginia because she was upset that a George Floyd hologram was cast over a Robert E. Lee monument on Tuesday, July 28, night. In the clip, an elderly woman wearing an oversized black top was seen getting infuriated after witnessing the hologram display. When she was told to leave by a number of African-American men who were in the area, she started cursing at them, calling the city "mad" for organizing something like that. "You’re a f****** n*****," the woman was heard saying in the footage, before smacking the man recording the video. "Look at this n***** sh**."
According to CNN, the hologram project was created by Change.org and the George Floyd Foundation. “Since the death of my brother George, his face has been seen all over the world,” Rodney Floyd, brother of George Floyd, said in a statement to the outlet. “Now by partnering with Change.org, the hologram will allow my brother’s face to be seen as a symbol for change in places where change is needed most.”
