JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY: ‘Low’ rapper Flo Rida has been accused by Alexis Adams, the mother of his six year old son, Zohar Dillard, of not fulfilling his paternal duties as mandated by court. The six-year old Zohar, who has a neurological disability of hydrocephalus, fell from the fifth floor window of the Jersey City flat that he shares with his mother on March 4.

The boy’s mother has been explosive about the rapper’s failure to pay the hospital bills and medical insurance required to undergo Zohar’s treatment. Earlier this week, she filed a lawsuit against the building management in New Jersey Superior Court for their lapse in safety measures pertaining to the building.

Accusations against Flo Rida

For Flo Rida, who was born Tramar Dillard, this is not the first time that he has been accused of not paying child maintenance. In an explosive interview given to Daily Mail by Alexis Adams, the rapper’s ex-girlfriend, the bitter side of the legal issues was revealed. Adams said the rapper has been very cold with their son. During the paternity test, “Flo Rida has only seen his son once during the paternity test but kept his shades on and his back turned. They were in the same room. He didn't try to hug Zohar, nothing. It was very cold.” When Adams was pregnant, the rapper called the child "an evil f***ing child" and coerced her to abort the baby. Adams opposed and gave birth to Zohar in the presence of her family members.

According to Adams, Flo Rida did the same thing with a model, Natasha Georgette Williams, who sued the rapper in 2013 for child support. It is not known whether Flo Rida has been dating anyone at present.

Adams dragged the ‘Can’t Believe It’ hitmaker to court in 2017 for child care support, for which the rapper has been mandated to pay. However, since 2020, he has repeatedly been a defaulter, as per Adams. Adams told Insider in January that Flo Rida has not paid child support for Zohar's education and health insurance. According to court filings, Dillard was required by a Bronx County Family Court to pay Adams $9,000 per month in child support, as well as the full cost of Zohar's education and health insurance, under the terms of the agreement.

Adams claimed in an August 2021 affidavit requesting that Flo Rida explain the lack of payment that she had spent thousands of dollars on legal assistance in requesting that the rapper explain the lack of payment or be held in contempt of court. Administrators from Zohar's school have also emailed Flo Rida and Adams, requesting tuition payment. Flo Rida also allegedly did not pay Zohar’s medical insurance in 2020 and 2021.

What happened to Zohar Dillard?

Zohar fell from the fifth-floor window of the building, and suffered from "a shattered pelvis, left metatarsal fractures, Grade 3 liver laceration, internal bleeding, and collapsed lungs," said a statement made by Adams’s lawyer. "I am just so grateful that my son is alive, fighting, and is still here with me. He's a real-life superhero," said the heartbroken mother, as reported by Insider.

Adams is suing the building management company, Goldberg Management, and Pitch Perfect 74, LLC, on the grounds that they were faulty "by installing windows that posed a hazardous condition and/or by installing incorrect sized guards on said windows," and also for not paying attention to her repeated pleas to install secure window guards. In an interview with a local news agency, News 12 New Jersey, Adams said of her son’s condition, "As a single mum to a special needs child this feels like a nightmare. My heart is broken into a million pieces," before adding "I am devastated, angry and struggling to come to terms with the fact that my only child has suffered severe injuries due to the wilful negligence of our landlord and others involved in failing to take necessary safety measures," reports Sky News
