An offer you can not refuse. If you are a fan of 'The Godfather' series, you have definitely feasted your eyes on this glorious piece of property before. Fleur du Lac, an estate on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe that was featured in 'The Godfather Part II' is officially on the market for $5.5 million.

The gorgeous California mansion was famously a part of a number of scenes in the movie including the Fredo Corleone lake murder — the machine-gun assassination of patriarch Michael Corleone's brother as he watched one of his men shoot him while they were out fishing.

It was also the family compound where Corleone threw his son his first communion party.

The residence was built in 1938 by and for industrialist Henry J Kaiser using 300 workers in just 29 days and over the years, has been installed with modern luxuries seamlessly blending in with the period detailing.

Kaiser is credited as the engineer behind the Hoover Dam, as well as many World War II military ships and aircraft. He and his friends spent much of their time racing boast at the lake and he named his new summer haven, Fleur de Lac or Flower of the Lake after his favorite racing boat.

He built most of the still-existing structures, a boat club (now a  meeting and party room), a yacht club and office buildings.

Presently, the Fleur du Lac functions as a luxurious private resort comprising 15 acres of land and 22 private townhouses. It includes the yacht club and the marina which is accessible by all residents.

There is a tennis court, exercise facility with locker rooms and steam showers, a heated pool, jacuzzi, and even a private beach. The Yacht Club, in addition, has a guest apartment called the Kaiser Suite with an outdoor terrace for scenic viewing, a bocce ball court, and a  private marina (with a private dock).

The Fleur du Lac was originally developer Kaiser's own home until the 1980s when the original structures were renovated and 22 lakefront homes ranging up to a total 6,000 feet were constructed. It then became the Fleur du Lac Estates.

The residence spans more than 4,200 square feet, comprising four bedrooms and five full bathrooms, with picturesque views of the water and mountain vistas that are to die for and is located in a prime position on lake shores.

It has been refurbished and updated to suit the 21st Century standards, yet some of its original structures remain untouched like the interior carved-wood columns, beamed ceilings and walls of glass overlooking the spectacular mountainous landscape.

The house is also equipped with a large stone fireplace, library and media room, and two guestrooms and the master bedroom that converts into the toasty place of relaxation on a chilly night.

The house also comes with a spacious kitchen with a perfect setting to share an intimate meal or breakfast with a view of the lake. It is also designed to host and feed a sizable crowd. The stairs off the side of the foyer lead up to the second-floor bedroom suites where the hallway is bathed in natural light from the rooftop cupola.

The Fleur du Lac has been cherished by two legends, in particular, Henry Kaiser, the former owner of the home and the industrialist who built it, and Francis Ford Coppola, the Hollywood Director who incorporated the property in some memorable scenes in his 'The Godfather Part II.'

The scenic residence is priced at $5.5 million, completely furnished and represented by Katherine Haug, Tahoe City, CA as well as Craig Miller, Incline Village, NV — both Sierra Sotheby's International Realty.
