Is 'Filthy Rich' Season 2 happening? Here's why Fox should renew Gothic dramedy series for another instalment

FOX's Southern Gothic dramedy 'Filthy Rich' aired it's final episode on Monday, November 30. The network had canceled the series even before the first season had ended, but the entire season did air to completion as the episodes were already produced.

The last episode as promised was indeed the best one, people rose from the dead - Eugene Monreaux (Gerald McRaney) and Luke Taylor (Cranston Johnson), Rose Monreaux's (Aubrey Dollar) wedding to Mark Conley (Mark L Young) was a disaster - she finds out a secret about Mark's past in regards to Jason, Rose's real brother - Margaret volunteered the information to Rose, of course, Eric confesses to a murder of a very much FBI Agent Luke, Eugene reveals himself to his family, Eric asks to be killed - need we say more?

As far as soaps go, this was a bumpy ride for sure, but the buildup sure was real. Fans were desperate and asked other networks to pick up the series when FOX canceled it. After the finale, fans took to Twitter hopefully for a Season 2. "I'm mad as hell RT @cherrilizabiff: I can’t believe y’all aren’t automatically giving me the season 2 i deserve. #FilthyRichFOX," wrote one fan. Another wrote, "#filthyrichfox Keep this show. Renew it for season 2!" and some just stuck to hastags tweeting, "#FilthyRichFOX #Season2 #please."

The ending of the series saw Eugene reveal himself as the father of Becky's, his daughter in law, new born - yes he slept with his daughter in law. Eric, Rose, Antonio, Ginger and Jason were five of his kids, now he has a 6th with his son Eric's wife. Then of course Margaret burned the house down - literally. "I just................ y’all. It is SO UNFAIR. i want a season 2 so bad I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT WTF #FilthyRichFOX," wrote one fan. Another added, "And you mean to tell me y’all not gonna give us a season 2 AFTER ALL OF THAT! #FilthyRichFOX."
