EVANSVILLE, INDIANA: Ronald Ray Mosley II, a 25-year-old former employee of the Walmart store was stopped by a female employee from going on a killing spree. The prompt action taken by the Walmart employee and the law enforcement officers who responded to the scene immediately, is being lauded. Mosley was shot and killed inside the store.

It is told that the 25-year-old man was carrying a suicide note on him and as he walked into the store where he shot another female employee in the face. The shooter had a 9mm handgun and walked straight into the store break room where employees were meeting late Thursday night on 19 January.

However, she was the only employee injured by Mosley's shooting, the Evansville Police Department said. After injuring one female employee, Mosley chased a male employee who had fled the room because he was his other target. During the incident, another female employee noticed that Mosley had left the room, she called 911, moved the injured woman to another room, locked the door, and turned out the lights while Mosley was still looking for her.

Sgt. Anna Gray as per Fox News said officers responded quickly and were inside the building within four minutes of the 911 call. At the time the incident occurred, there were 40 Walmart employees and forty shoppers inside the store, it was informed.

Evansville Police Chief Billy Bolin called the female employee who called 911 a hero and lauded her for her bravery. "I have no doubt that he was going back to finish what he started and we would probably have a dead victim today instead of one that’s alive," he said during a press conference. The woman she helped was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital and was in stable condition, according to Gray.

Bolin said the shooter had left a suicide note and "he absolutely planned to die." It is now being investigated when Mosley acquired the handgun and how many shots he actually fired. As per the officials, Mosley was fired from the store on 18 May 2022 after being charged with four misdemeanor counts of battery after he attacked four co-workers.

His cause affidavit as per the report mentions that he was having issues with people and "lost control." Further, just hours before the shooting, Mosley had appeared for a progress hearing. He had pleaded guilty to the battery charges and was complying with mental health treatment through the court.

"The entire Walmart family is shocked by the senseless violence that occurred at our Evansville store, and our hearts are with our associates at this time," the retail giant said in a statement as per the outlet. Saying that they thank first responders and will continue to support law enforcement with investigations.
