BLACKPOOL, ENGLAND: The grief-stricken family of a 3-year-old girl who was killed in a horrific motorway crash last weekend remembered her as a "clever little girl" who is now "dancing in the sky."

Faye Grace Dawson, of Wallasey, Merseyside tragically died on Saturday, November 20, after the car she was traveling in collided with a Porsche on the M6 near Leyland in Lancashire. The impact of the crash made the car flip onto its side before bursting into flames. The crash reportedly took place at around 17.50 BST on the southbound carriageway between junctions 28 and 29. The collision also claimed the life of the 79-year-old Porsche driver, who was said to be driving on the wrong side. The identity of the driver is not revealed.

The little girl was on her way back from Blackpool in a Vauxhall Meriva with her mother Beth Dawson and an unnamed man, who also suffered serious injuries. The duo was rushed to Royal Preston Hospital and are now in better condition. The motorway was closed in both directions for several hours on Saturday after the crash. Police have since issued an appeal for witnesses of the collision to come forward.

Sgt Craig Booth, Serious Collision Investigator with Lancashire Police's Tactical Operations Unit, said, "These are very sad and tragic circumstances. This was a traumatic scene for all witnesses and emergency services involved, I would like to pass on my thanks for their dedication in dealing with an incident that can only be described as horrific. We want to hear from any witnesses to the collision or those who have dashcam footage from the area around the time it happened."

Beth’s friends have set up a fundraising page to help the mother deal with what they describe as a "horrific accident". "As you can imagine the family and friends are devastated by this news so I'm asking if you could please help by donating to help her family, for them to not have to worry about any costs because as you can imagine they’re all going through enough right now. Thank you in advance for your support. Our prayers are with you all," the page read.

"We can’t see the future without you, it has left a massive hole in our lives. Everyone says how precious their daughter/granddaughter is but you were an exception, you were such a clever little girl who was very funny and had us all laughing all the time,” the family's statement said. "You were so loving and caring and above all very loved by everyone who met you."

"You were too little to be taken away from us, but we know the angels will look after you and they’re lucky to have you dancing in the sky with them. We are all so heartbroken that you were taken far too young but we are so glad that we got to have you for the time we did. RIP baby girl, we are all missing you and will carry on forever. All our love," the statement added.
