Drunk father runs red light killing 11-year-old daughter in car crash on New Year's Eve

A father in Texas has been charged with murder after his 11-year-old daughter died because he allegedly drove while drunk on New Year's Eve causing the vehicle to crash into another one. 33-year-old Jorge Ledezma Echavarria has also been charged with two counts of intoxication assault after his wife and son were injured in the crash as well.
The Houston Chronicle reported that, according to the authorities, Echavarria was driving the blue 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound at about 8:30 pm when he ran a red light at a busy intersection located at Highway 90 and Beltway 8, PEOPLE reported. The family car then crashed into another SUV.
